Kendra's last class her first day of the school year was advanced potions, a class that she was surprised to see that she shared with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco and Theodore, as well as a few Ravenclaws and one Hufflepuff, though none of them were her close friends. She decided to sit with Draco and Theodore, foregoing having to sit with Granger.

"Trouble in paradise?" Draco asked quietly. Theo snorted.

"Says you," Theodore retorted.

"We broke up," Kendra replied quietly. Their response was immediate- they had both seen how much just the thought of Hermione had carried her through her capture.

Just in that moment, the new potions teacher, Professor Slughorn, began talking, explaining their assignment for the day and instructing them on where in their textbook they would find the recipe.

"Have either of you ever made a draught of living peace?" Theo grumbled as he flipped the page. "Or quite frankly even seen one? Like, what's the point? When am I going to need to know how to put someone in a coma?!"

"Theodore," Draco hissed under his breath. Kendra's eyes narrowed at the exchange.

"What, am I not allowed to complain anymore? Am I ruining your brooding aesthetic?" Theodore asked sarcastically.

"Potter's over there, don't let him hear you," Draco hissed, elbowing Theodore, who smirked.

"So it is your brooding aesthetic," Theodore muttered, his smirk spreading into a grin.

"My offer still stands, you know," Kendra said, starting on her potion.

"I'm not-" Draco began.

"Oh and class, don't forget that you are all competing for the vial of Felix Felicis! Best of luck to you all," Slughorn called. Suddenly Draco was silent, furiously working on his potion. Kendra caught Harry's eyes as she observed the blonde boy. He narrowed his eyes as he caught her gaze.

'Talk later,' he mouthed at her. Kendra rolled her eyes at him and flipped him off, knowing what he was upset about. It had been here, or with Hermione, and quite frankly, Kendra did not want to sit with Hermione right now.

After the bell rang, ending class, Kendra leaned over to Theo. "My cousin's pissed, will you help me avoid him?"

Theo snorted and nodded, leading Kendra up several flights of stairs and into a place she hadn't been since her third year- the astronomy tower. She had managed to drop the class, mentioning that getting up in the middle of the night wasn't good for someone with such a fragile immune system as her.

Theo set his bag down with a hefty sigh and Kendra plopped to the ground, laying down and shutting her eyes in exhaustion. They were both silent for a few moments.

"What's your cousin upset at you for?" Theo asked curiously. Kendra opened her eyes.

"I sat with you in potions and am apparently evil itself now," Kendra replied, scoffing at the end of her sentence. "Honestly, he could have his tongue eight centimeters down Draco Malfoy's throat and he would still go off at me for sitting with a Slytherin- and mind, if you had been rude to him loads, I would tolerate it."

"Hmm," Theodore hummed. Kendra closed her eyes again. "We don't know that he doesn't currently have his tongue eight centimeters down Draco's throat."

Kendra snorted. "Yes, we do. I'm pretty sure some sort of explosion would have happened if they did," Kendra replied. Theo rustled about in his bag.

"Fair," he said, his typically crisp enunciation muffled by his lips being clasped around an object. Kendra opened her eyes and sat up when she heard the distinct click of a lighter to see Theo lighting a cigarette. She rolled her eyes.
