Harry and Kendra met by the stairs that led them out of the Room of Requirement. Neville had warned them that the exit would put them out somewhere new every time, and they would have to watch for people patrolling the corridors.
They both barely fit under the invisibility cloak, but their feet were still completely covered. Once they were invisible, Harry gave a light push on the wall, which opened up to the hallway. Looking down at the map for a second, Harry turned to Kendra to whisper under his breath.
"Looks like we're on the fifth floor," Harry said quietly. "Don't see anyone nearby. Can you get us there from here?"
Kendra nodded in return and used her finger to draw out a path on the map. "We can take this passageway to get there," Kendra said. "Not many people use this one, so we should be good."
"Lead the way then," Harry said.
Kendra and Harry moved slowly, checking the map often to make sure there was no one they could run into. Silently, and as quickly as they could while shuffling along and staring at a piece of paper more often than the corridor in front of them, they made it to the Ravenclaw common room.
Kendra reached out her arm to grasp the bronze knocker, letting it thud against the door once. The eagle blinked, suddenly animated. Its beak opened, and the soft musical call of the riddle felt comforting to Kendra. "Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?"
Kendra paused, thinking. "What do you think, Harry?" she asked, partially to see how he would answer and partially to see his reaction.
"There's no password?" he asked, bewildered.
"Didn't I tell you?" Kendra asked. "You have to answer a riddle to get in. Right pain when you get it wrong and have to wait for someone to let you in."
"Well, we can't exactly wait for someone to come along and get it right, can we?" Harry asked, sarcastic in his desperation.
"Can it and let me think then," Kendra replied. She paused, thinking for another moment. "A circle has no end."
"Well reasoned," the eagle answered, and the door swung open.
Harry slipped out from under the cloak and Kendra wanted to curse him--there was no way that there wasn't some sort of trap set up. Harry climbed up onto Ravenclaw's pedestal, reading the phrase out on the bottom.
"Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure," Harry muttered aloud as he read.
"Which makes you pretty skint, witless." A cackling voice came from the shadows and Kendra was ready to fight whoever it was for the opportunity to kill the boy who lived.
Harry whirled around and fell off the pedestal, sprawling out on the ground. A woman who could have only been Alecto Carrow emerged from the shadows, her forearm exposed and brandished like a weapon. She wasted no time at all in pressing her finger down upon the mark.
Kendra watched Harry's face contort in pain, and she knew that Voldemort had gotten the message. She didn't waste a second trying to think, and she slipped her wand out of the invisibility cloak, stunning Alecto Carrow before she even realized there was someone else there. Kendra stepped towards the stunned Death Eater, scowling.
"Piss head," she grumbled. She had never met either of the Carrows before today, but she had heard enough from Theo and Draco to feel incredibly satisfied that she had taken the foul woman down.
"Where are you, Kendra?" Harry whispered. "I need to get back under the cloak."
Kendra realized that her spell must have woken up the entirety of Ravenclaw tower. Quickly, she lifted the cloak up to allow Harry to see her and slip underneath it, just in time for all of Ravenclaw house to come down the stairs.
