Nabina Rai can vouch for what good the bite can do for someone, although she has a bit different story than others, you can thank Derek Hale for that.
Although, like every good thing, there are downsides. Like hunters, loss of control, full moons, and people who get bitten and not turned into a werewolf. People who instead turn into a six foot homicidal lizard with razor sharp teeth and parasitic venom in their claws.
There's also a crazy hunter wielding a giant sword that can cut bodies in half.
