It was late at night and freezing cold as you arrived at Rito Village, and every bit closer you had gotten, the more paranoid you were about Rhoam finding out where you really went. Knowing him, he had likely already sent a team out to find you.

You thought nothing could get worse until you heard about the competition up in the Hebra mountains starting the next morning, and Revali could possibly already be gone off to meet with his team. And they wouldn't be back for a while if that was the case.

After settling your horse down at the stable, you darted across the bridges leading up to the village, careful not to be seen by the guards.

You got to the stairs and started climbing, hoping to make it to Revali's room before he left. You could see some Rito's leaping off of the landing and heading towards the mountains already, and you thought maybe they were just the early group.

"Revali?" You got to his room, and saw him all wrapped up in blankets. You walked over, only able to see his beak, and gently moved the blanket.

"_____...?" The exhausted Rito opened his eyes slowly, but instead of the familiar green eyes you were used to, you saw two piercing blue eyes. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, shoot, Eagle I'm sorry." You looked away embarrassed, and he yawned and closed his eyes again. "I thought this was Revali's room."

"His room is up two that way." He pointed up the stairs, and you thanked him and continued up - still bright red trying to figure out how easily you must've forgotten.

This time you walked in, and there was no bird laying in the hammock. His bow and quiver were missing. And so was his best armor.

You sat down in his hammock, letting yourself slip down to lay on your side facing his window, and you just stared out at Hebra Peak. Worried that you'd be found before Revali got home. You didn't feel as safe knowing if the guards came to get you, Kanyen wouldn't be able to fight it. Revali would try.

You let tears run down your cheeks as you shivered, and you sighed, watching as the heat of your breath faded into the cold of the winter air. Nothing was stopping Rhoam from keeping this wedding going now. Nothing.

"_____..." Well, nothing until you felt a wing on your shoulder. You ignored it, as the voice belonged to Eagle. "_____." This time it was more firm, and you squeezed your eyes shut.

"Let me be, Eagle." You managed, and then you felt a wing slip under your waist, and to your surprise, it pulled you up. You still refused to turn around as a beak was rested on your head, and both wings wrapped around your smaller frame.

"Eagle? What would Eagle be doing in my room?" You turned around to be met with the tall blue bird you had been aching to see and you buried your face into the crook of his neck, trying to ask where he was but too many words came out at once. "Hey, you're okay." He sighed and gently rubbed your back. "Gods, I'm glad I came back for my arrows. I had no idea you were coming."

"I had no idea either." You breathed quietly, and he tilted his head as you pulled away slightly. "You have a competition to get to. You should go."

"Conpetitions can wait," He got into the hammock with you, pulled the blanket over you both. "What's going on?" He asked as you curled up with him, and you spent a few minutes trying to figure out what to start with since so much had happened.

"Long story or short story?" You asked, and he nuzzled his beak into your neck and stroked your hair.

"Whichever one's easier for you to tell." You thought for another moment before deciding finally which part to start with.

"Did you hear about what happened last month?" He shook his head, and you sighed and went on. "Well, about a month ago, we... we lost Amirah to a yiga attack." He gasped and pulled away from you.

"Oh gods, _____ I'm sorry." He hugged you tighter this time and you took a few deep breaths into his chest. "I wish I had known. I shouldn't have stopped checking in, I've just had so much to do and-" he cut himself off with a sigh. "I'm really sorry, I'm the w-"

"It's okay, Revali. You couldn't have known. You have a busy life too." You squeezed him, and he moved a bit so his forehead matched with yours. "But now that Amirah's not here anymore, Rhoam's trying to make me queen. And I'm being forced to marry Nolan."

"Wait, did it already-" You showed him your hand, and he breathed out relieved. "So you left?" You nodded, and he smiled a bit and gently pecked your cheek. "That's my girl." You blushed a bit and cuddled into him again.

"I'm just so lucky Nolan was late to the wedding." You breathed, and Revali went a bit red. "What...?"

"Oh- uhm, nothing." You gave him a bit of a glare before he sighed and continued. "There's a... bit of a reason." You asked him what and he was verrry hesitant about telling you but finally did. "Eagle and I heard him talking about you and decided to... mess with him. We didn't know it was important."

"So you-" You smiled a bit and hugged him, almost crying again. "You're saving me without even knowing now." He blushed and smiled, petting your head gently. "I'm still worried he's looking for me. The real wedding's tomorrow."

"Then we better get out of here before they find you. I know a place."
