Blinded

This is dedicated to a best friend:

This is to the girl who was blinded from a young age

The is to the girl who could not see her pretty smiles when she was hugged

This to the girl who was deafened from a young age

The girl that could not hear her giggles when she heard a good joke

What she doesn't know is that she is one of the prettiest creations I have ever seen

She judges her beauty off of manmade objects we call mirrors

She judges her beauty off of toxic standards impossible to be reached

She does not see what I see

She does not hear what I hear

She does not see the beauty in her kindness

The purity that her heart holds

She does not see

And I can't wait for the day that she opens her eyes

The day her eyes twinkle under the stars

The day she realizes that she is the prettiest creation to ever exist

But

She does not see what I see

She does not hear what I hear

She does not see the beauty in her eyes

And the childish innocence they cling to
