Perfection

*A bit of a mashup of 2 poems I wrote before*

Parents say our generation is weak

That we would have never survived in theirs

Do they know the media is at its peak?

Or that social media controls our lives?

Or how influencers promote starvation

Because that's when you'll be doing it right

Slowly poisoning our generation

So we won't even be able to fight

Cussing out and hating our reflections

Pointing each and every flaw we retain

Because the media taught us "perfection"

Unachievable ones we can't maintain

How could we ever be happy that way

love your flaws so your smile doesn't slip away
