Barbara Gordon was at the Gotham Clocktower, doing her usual routines. It had been a couple days since she and the rest of the Bat Family met Kevin Beaumont and Robin Warner. She was surprised to know Bruce had a biological son, but she was happy to welcome Kevin into the family, ditto that toon Robin Warner. He was quite cute and funny. As Barbara worked on her computer, she got a text on her phone. She looked at it and saw it was from her friend Kara Zor El Kent, AKA Supergirl. The text said, "Hey Babs, wanna hang out at Some Bagels And Gelato at Burnside? My treat." It had been a long time since Barbara had been to that little cafe in Burnside. And part of her was craving some cookies and cream gelato. She then texted back, "sure. Sounds like fun. I'll be out of the Clocktower soon. You gonna fly me there?" Barbara then got her wallet and keys, putting them in her pocket. She rolled her wheelchair to the elevator, and that's when Kara texted back, "you know it! ;)" Barbara chuckled a little. She didn't mind having Kara fly her over there. It was a nice reminder of the love of flight she had, something she really missed as Batgirl. The minute Babs was outside the Clocktower, she felt a great gust suddenly pick her up. She knew it was her friend Kara picking her up and carrying her while flying. Less than a minute later, they were at the cafe known as Some Bagels and Gelato at Burnside. Barbara noticed Kara was in her civilian clothes. "Enjoy that ride?" Kara asked, smiling at her friend. "Oh yeah, definitely a five-star rating," replied Babs, smiling back. Kara opened the door for Barbara and held it open so that Barbara could roll her wheelchair inside the shop. Kara went inside after her. They went up front, ready to order. "I'll take a bowl of strawberry gelato," said Kara. "And I'll take a bowl of cookies and cream gelato," said Barbara. Kara then paid for the order, and the two friends found a table to sit at, one that was wheelchair friendly. A minute later, their order was ready, and Kara went to get the two bowls. Once Kara sat back down, Barbara said, "thanks Kara."

"No problem Babs," said Kara as she and Babs started eating their respective gelatos. As they ate, Barbara asked, "so what have you been up to?" Kara swallowed her Italian ice cream and replied, "oh the usual. Protecting the innocent from your usual villain of the week. And also trying to be a good reporter on top of it. What about you? How are things going with you?" Barbara adjusted her glasses and replied, "same usual stuff. Librarian by day, Oracle by night. Also mentoring Cass and Tyler." Kara smirked and replied, "I'm sure that's going well." Babs shrugged and replied, "well it hasn't gone horribly wrong so far. On a completely different note, Bruce introduced me and the others to two new people." Kara tilted her head and asked, "oh? And who were these two new people?"

"Well, one of them was a toon named Robin Warner," replied Barbara, "the other.... do you promise not to tell anyone else? I mean I'm sure Bruce will have told Clark by now, but Bruce doesn't want anyone else to know. But I trust you Kara, since you're my friend." Kara nodded and said, "other than Kal, I won't tell anyone else. You have my word. And toons exist? Sounds weird, but then again, not too out of the ordinary." Barbara chuckled at Kara's latter comment regarding toons. Barbara breathed in and whispered to Kara, "okay. The other guy I met, it turns out he's Bruce's son." Kara's eyes widened and she asked, "wait... Bruce has a son? And he's not adopted?" Barbara shook her head and said, "100% biological. He does have a bit of a resemblance to Bruce. His name is Kevin Adam Beaumont." Kara then asked, "how old is he?"

"23 going on 24," replied Barbara, "technically I'm older than him." She finished her gelato. "What's he like?" Kara asked curiously. "Well, he's actually friendly," said Barbara, "turns out he likes to cook, and he's pretty smart on top of it. He's left a remarkably good impression on me. I think you'd like him." Kara smiled and said, "from what you've described, I think I would. So did he move to Gotham?" Barbara nodded and replied, "yep. Bruce is letting him and Robin live at Wayne Manor." Kara gave a curious look and asked, "so they know about all your heroic alter egos?" Barbara nodded and said, "pretty much. In fact, Bruce is having Kevin look at several files regarding certain superheroes that he could consider allies." Kara rolled her eyes and giggled, "typical Bruce. Always forming contingency plans." Barbara shrugged and said, "those plans usually work. Would you want to meet Kevin and Robin?" Kara nodded and said, "yeah. That'd be nice. I'll consider it."
