Calpurnia explained to her father how powerful Kara was, and how Kevin needed a suit of armor to make it possible to face Skadlig. And if it was enchanted, so the better. "What if your suit was similar to what your dad wears, Kevin?" Kara suggested. "Is your father a knight in your dimension?" Calpurnia asked. "Well, he protects his city as a hero," explained Kevin, "and he fights evil. He dresses like a bat and calls himself Batman."

"Batman?" Calpurnia and her father asked in unfamiliar unison. "Why does your father dress like a bat?" Calpurnia questioned. "Because criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot," said Kevin, "but it's worked so far." Kara then flew out and then quickly came back with a pencil and paper, and speedily drew a basic sketch of Batman. Calpurnia and her father looked at the sketch, and they nodded at each other. "It is a tad theatrical, but doable," commented Calpurnia, "come, I will bring my best wizard and we will take you to the blacksmiths." As Calpurnia brought her best wizard with her, she took Kevin and Kara to an area that was a few miles west of the horse stables. It was where the blacksmiths and armorers resided. There were two particular blacksmiths, one of them was his apprentice. The main blacksmith was a dwarf named Mulligan. His apprentice blacksmith was a Hobbit named Hogarth. They were responsible for every weapon and piece of armor for the empire. Once they made it inside, Mulligan warmly said to the princess in Dwarven, "Aranel Calpurnia, manen valief ana cen- tye!" Hogarth looked curiously at Kevin and Kara, for he had never seen humans before. "-yes na- mára ana cen- tye ve ehtelë, Mulligan." Calpurnia replied in Dwarven. "Mana ger tye símen aranel?" Mulligan asked. "Mime sinya nur bekannt ve Kevin Beaumont braucht eine verzauberte -o  Rüstung ana anta Skadlig." Calpurnia explained. Mulligan and Hogarth looked at Kevin and Kara, and they had surprised looks on their faces. These outsiders were going to face the evil dragon known as Skadlig? They must be either very brave or insane. But the tone in Calpurnia's voice was quite serious. Mulligan looked at Kara and asked, "Ar mana -o i selde?"

"Se hat lala maure -o Rüstung. Se na- polda," replied Calpurnia. The princess looked at the blonde Kryptonian and said in English, "show them your strength." Kara saw a Viking axe with a large metallic blade that was 48 inches tall, and it looked thick enough to slice a tree stump. An ordinary man would struggle to lift it. Kara then easily took it as if it barely weighed anything at all. She flipped it up and down as if she was playing with a baseball. Mulligan and Hogarth were amazed by this woman's abilities. Kara put the Viking axe back and then used her heat vision to spark up the forging fires! Kara then gave a proud smirk. Hogarth chuckled and said, "Ni ve sina er." Kevin then showed the dwarf and the hobbit the drawing of his father as Batman, non-verbally specifying that this was the suit that he wanted to be made. Mulligan and Hogarth looked at the suit with intrigued curiosity. The ears and the cape looked a tad theatrical, but it was doable for them. Mulligan and Hogarth nodded at each other in unanimous agreement, and then Mulligan said to Princess Calpurnia in Dwarven, "Etsi n- ha. Emme soll care- sina Rüstung an tye, Kevin Beaumont."

"I guess that's a yes?" Kevin asked. Calpurnia calmly nodded and said, "they will do it my friends. Before we start, the symbol on your father's chest, do you consider it a coat of arms?" Kevin thought a moment and then he replied, "in a way, it is. The symbol means something to my father." Calpurnia offered, "how would you like it if we put this coat of arms not only in the center of your armor but also as part of your shield?" Kevin smiled and said, "sounds good." Calpurnia smiled and said, "then let's get to work." Mulligan and Hogarth then measured Kevin's height and width so that they could get a good perspective of how to fit the armor. Given that Kevin was five foot eleven and a half, he was considered very tall, practically they thought his height was between an elf and a troll. Once measurements were finished with, Kevin and Kara helped Mulligan and Hogarth prepare the armor, its shield, and its sword. As it was being prepared, the empire's best wizard spoke many chants towards the armor. As Kevin tried on the armor, Calpurnia explained, "with the wizard's enchantments, you will have a fighting chance against Skadlig. The armor will triple your speed, strength, and stamina. The cape and the shield will protect you from the hottest flames, be they magical or natural. And the sword should be strong enough to kill a dragon. Test out the sword." Kevin lifted the sword, swooshing it back and forth like he was some swashbuckling swordsman like Zorro or Westley from The Princess Bride. Bruce trained him in the art of sword fighting and fencing, a skill Kevin quickly adapted. Kevin then sliced an anvil and the anvil then fell in half. Hogarth blinked in surprise. "Oh yeah, that's definitely strong," chuckled Kevin. He placed the blue cape on the back of his shoulders, fastened his shield that had a golden bat symbol with a blue background and then he put on the metallic helmet with the metallic bat ears that resembled his father's cowl. Kevin looked at himself with his new suit in the mirror.

Kevin turned around to face Kara, Calpurnia, Hogarth, and Mulligan, and asked, "how do I look?" Kara bit her lip and said, "you look hot

Kevin turned around to face Kara, Calpurnia, Hogarth, and Mulligan, and asked, "how do I look?" Kara bit her lip and said, "you look hot... I mean, it's a good look for you." Calpurnia nodded and said, "indeed. You look stoic and truly heroic." Mulligan and Hogarth smiled proudly. This was truly their greatest masterpiece. "I like it," commented Kevin, "I can't thank you enough, your highness." Kara smirked and said, "aren't you Captain Courageous." Kevin smirked and replied, "Captain Courageous, eh? I think I'll use that." Soon Kevin and Kara were back in the throne room, kneeling before the emperor. The Emperor said in Elvish, "A etsi mín segnen cin mit i kalýteros -o glück, Kevin Beaumont a Kara Zor El." He gestured for them to rise up and go. Captain Courageous and Supergirl stood up and then Supergirl confidently said, "let's do this."
