After a tiresome week, came the weekend. Ashwin's school days were nothing but tiring. He was centre of some rumors with Akansha, getting dragged around with where ever the idiot Raghav went, and getting pestered by his sister to meet the Ice Princess.
And he did introduce those two as well. Despite their opposing elements, those two seemed to get along well as well. But man, those girls are real trouble. And all this carried on for the entire semester!
"Man, I'm beat!", Ashwin sat lazily on the sofa, on an early Saturday morning. He just finished his morning workout but he had no intention to cultivate.
So, all he could do was watch the television.
"As you can see from these images..", a reporter from certain news channel spoke, "the scale of thundersome is so large yet none of the weather forecast were able to predict this. Just thus morning, unusual thunderstorm hit the sea, hundered kilometer from the coastline"
This perked Ashwin's interest. "Asi, do you think this is related to the shastra we are looking for", Ashwin mentally communicated with Asi.
"It definitely is. If my memory is right, that thundercloud is an array composed of a heave grade lightning seed, and a soul grade wind seed"
"Heaven and soul grade?!", Ashwin almost blurted out.
"Yes. And this array is meant to guard the entrance to the Holy Empire of Dwarka", Asi explained.
"You mean the sunken empire of Gof Krishna?", Ashwin asked for clarification.
"That is correct. And I do suggest we go as fast as possible, maybe like right NOW!"
"Hold you horses. I am not even an intermediate mage yet. How do you expect my to cruise through 1. The Sea, a worst possible battlefield for me and 2. An array of not just soul grade, but heaven grade! Even a super mage would have a hard time in a situation like this!"
"Just breakthrough your shadow element. And don't worry about the magic exploding your soul. I am a sword that killed countless emperors, so I could block the magic from overflowing quite easily", Asi said confidently.
"But that doesn't the array problem"
"That's even easier. Why do you think this thunderstorm arrive so suddenly in the first place?"
"Why?"
"Because I communicated with the Shastra you idiot! So, the barrier would open up for you. But as for getting the acknowledgement of the Shastra depends on your own talent", Asi scolded.
"I am guessing you won't tell which Shastra this is?"
"No"
"..."
...
That night, Ashwin sat on the terrace of his house, under cold night sky. His spirit wondered through his consciousness, exploring the lightning element that was brimming with energy.
Ashwin was a bit dissapointed that he couldn't breakthrough his lightning element, but his attention soon went to the light orb beside the lightning element.
His mind entered a different space the purplish-black shadow element could be felt. Ashwin could barely see the full form of the shadow element since the actual a star universe which he could not hope to control as he is now. All he now had was being able to feel one of its star dusts.
Ashwin too a deep breath, resoluting himself. He used his will to feel the shadow element. His will expanding through the seven star dusts, extracting the magic within it, connecting it to his own spiritual consciousness. Ashwin was extremely patient, so as to not pull out too much energy.
It was like trying a draw water from a dam while making sure th dam doesn't crack up, but the difficulty was on a whole different scale, since the walls of this 'dam' isn't so tough and he can't do it easily as a press of a switch.
For two hours, Ashwin patiently cultivated, while bearing extreme head ache. His will was stretched too thin, and finally, the dam started to collapse.
Too much magical energy from the shadow element flooded into his Conciousness beyond his control. Ashwin wanted to scream from the head ache but he clenched his teeth and held on. He was sweating profusely. His right eye started to bleed.
"Asi!!"
"Got it!", Asi, the divine sword which also held a connection to Ashwin's consciousness, quickly spread his aura throughout Ashwin's consciousness.
His own power was pushing back the magic that was pouring out of the light orb.
But Asi was also having a hard time.
Not only was the magic power higher than Asi expected, Asi itself couldn't completely excert its full power, coz it would damage Ashwin's consciousness even further.
So Asi could do was control the power, while gradually pushing back the magic.
Like that, five more hours passed, and finally the danger was avoided. The excess magic was pushed back while Ashwin retained control over seven stardust forming a star cluster.
But Ashwin didn't have the energy to spare, as he collapsed and fell asleep. What he just went through was hundred times painful that what he felt when he underwent his grandpa's eye transplantation surgery!
And so, Ashwin didn't even notice the lime green hue that was emitting from his right eye just before the bleeding stopped
...
The rising sunlight spread from the east horizon, shining over Ashwin's who was having a good rest. He grumpily woke up, cursing himself for sleeping on the terrace since it ruined his sleep.
Ashwin had no energy to spare and so, he didn't bother with his sword training. All he did was go back to his room to sleep again.
He woke up around twelve on the noon. He quickly freshened up, and went downstairs for brunch.
He did get a light scolding from his mother for sleeping in, but Ashwin explained that he was cultivating.
After having his food, Ashwin quickly got back to his room to examine his cultivation.
The bad news he found out was, his spiritual consciousness recieved serious damage that the level 4 will he painstakingly cultivated dropped to level 3.
That was a big blow. After all, cultivating spiritual attainment was even more difficult than cultivating.
Asi even suggested that it would be best for him to not practice his spirit till it completely heals itself. This is gonna affect his cultivation as well, dampening his progress.
But the good things he recieved weren't bad either.
Firstly, not only did he breakthrough to mid tier, he could draw level 2 magic of mid tier after he trains to construct his star map. This was because of the excess energy that was left behind easily made up for the level two spell, and some of the energy was even absorbed by his stars.
Second, his eye automatically generated a active magic effect by storing the level 2 mid tier magic, without Ashwin even realizing. With this, Ashwin could temporarily immobilized anything within his line of sight, the closer the better. And if he makes eye contact, the mental seal effect of the level 2 mid tier shadow spell will come into effect.
Ashwin could feel that the effect would only last for a few seconds and wasn't as good as the actual spell, but for someone who fights at extreme close range, this was perfect.
Third, and the most surprising was that, the elemental eye unlocked a new magic effect stored in it- passive healing. This was a magic he got from the grandfather. Although the effect might not be as good or fast as the actual spell, it was still pretty handy.
