Ughh.

Sophie hated him.

Hated the fact that he had so much control over her emotions.

And he didn't even have to try.

That was why it was so frustrating.

What did he think?

That barging in, with that stupidly cute smirk on his face will be the death of her?

Though in many cases, she was annoyed to say that it was true.

She hated him, for more reasons than one.

She hated him for making her feel this way.

Every time he smiled at her?

She was sure she would melt into a puddle of goo.

He wasn't that special- so why did he do this to her?

No-he wasn't special, he was extraordinary.

Extraordinary in the way he mussed his Hair in the perfect, yet oh-so-messy way, his little mannerisms- like the crinkles at the corner of his eyes whenever he laughed out loud, and those god damned freckles sprinkled across his nose, ever so faintly.

How was it even possible for him to do nothing, yet be the one holding the reins of her emotions?

She did not know.

But one thing she knew for sure.

She hated him.

Because she loved him.

And now?

There was nothing she could do.

There he went, holding onto his girlfriend, Azarelea's arm, as they both laughed at something she said, both basking in the warm sunlight.

She felt her heart break into a million pieces.

Why had she not realised earlier?

Because if she had, it would have been her that would be making him this happy.

But no, life had to turn out this way.

She choked back her tears, running away from there, trying to erase the scene.

Her photographic memory did not help with that.

Someone caught her.

Dex.

He held onto her, caressing her back, letting her cry her heart out.

He was an amazing best friend- she loved him.

Not in the way she loved Keefe, though.

Keefe.

The word brought back cherished memories, which were now too painful to handle.

Time skip to a few years later, and Keefe and Azarelea were engaged.

A few more months, their wedding.

And to put the cherry on top of all the hurt she suffered?

Their little baby girl.

She looked like the perfect blend of Keefe and Azarelea- it was too painful for her.

She looked away when Keefe handed her his little bundle of joy.

She could have had a future with him.
