Chapter 10: The Retreat- Day 2

The next day, we got up early by 6. The six of us were simply enjoying each others company. Chatting and gossiping while having our tea or coffee. As it had been a while since we had our morning drinks together, it felt good. The view from our balcony was simply amazing. Just lush greenery everywhere. It was a sight to behold.

After a chaotic and energy-filled day, today was supposed to be a relaxing and calming one. We had our early mornings to ourselves to explore the resort. So, we decided to first go to the yoga and meditation centre to start our day with some tranquillity.

When we were done with our session, we spontaneously decided to go to the gym. Even though I would exercise, the gym wasn't something I was interested in. The rest were, so I just went along with my friends. While the rest of them were doing God knows what, I started walking on a treadmill.

As I was about to put on some music, Dhruva made his appearance and started the treadmill beside me. I just hoped it wouldn't be more awkward than it already was.

"You still don't like gyms?", he asked.

"Hmm. Not really."

The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. "Not much has changed then."

After seeing my pained expression, he was about to apologise when I stopped him.
"A lot has changed though, hasn't it?"

With that, I turned away from him and continued my workout. When everyone was done with their workouts, we decided to explore the resort. On our way, we met a couple of our classmates, who invited us to join them for breakfast. Hence, we decided to pause our adventure for a while.

Like yesterday, today's breakfast was delicious too. We all planned to hit the pool after some time. With that, we continued our exploration. It sufficed to say that we went for a hike, with the amount of walking involved in this exploration. And obviously, since the view was picture-perfect, we had to click some photos. Some random silly poses and a couple of candid shots later, we decided to head back to our room and get ready for pool time.

Our friends had already arrived by the time we reached. Some were lounging by the poolside, sipping drinks, while the others were playing in the pool. It was a fun way to pass the time.

We decided to leave the pool and move indoors before our bodies were scorched under the blazing sun. After freshening up, we all went to have lunch. As it was the last day of this reunion, we wanted to spend as much time possible with each other. Hence, chilling indoors was the best option at noon.

We spent some time playing a few rounds of the classic game 'Housie'. After that, a talent show was arranged wherein almost everyone flaunted/paraded their talents. It was amazing to see everyone has sharpened their skills and hobbies.

Since today was Christmas Eve, it was time for Secret Santa. Of course, we would not miss a chance to celebrate a holiday so, we came bearing presents. I was supposed to get a gift for Bhagu. As he loved doodling, I decided to get him his very own blank comic notebook along with some doodling stationery so that he could fill it in with his creativeness.

It was fun and eventful but at the same time emotional. So, we decided to end the retreat with some positivity. Ramya went ahead and distributed a piece of paper to everyone. We were supposed to write something positive about each other on that piece of paper. Once everyone was done, we would get ours back. This was a great way to appreciate someone. It took almost an hour to write compliments for everyone.

With that, our reunion came to an end. Everyone went to the rooms to repack and get ready to return to daily life. After packing our luggage in the car, we went to greet others one last time before leaving. Let's just say it was emotional. With promises to meet again soon, we parted our ways. The car ride back home was filled with us counting memories of the reunion and discussing our Christmas plan. By the time we reached the city, all the high from the event was worn off, and we were ready to hit the bed.
