Neil's Lawyer: Your honour meri agli gawah hain Saraswati ji jo ki Mr. Oberoi ke ghar mein house help hain.

Saraswati came in the witness box.

Neil's Lawyer: Saraswati ji, Mr. Oberoi ke baare mein aap kya kehna chahengi? Kaisa vyavahar hai unka apni patni aur beti ke sath?

Saraswati: Sahab ko main bohot pehle se jaanti hoon. Bohot hi shant swabhav ke hain. Kabhi kisi se unchi awaz mein baat nahi ki. Sab se pyar se bolte hain. Judge sahab, jo insaan sabke sath itne pyar se raheta hai woh apni patni aur bachhe ko kitna pyar karega yeh kehne ki kya zaroorat! Haan, shadi ke kuch waqt baad sahab ko gussa toh aata tha par inhone kabhi bhi apni patni par hath nahi uthaya. Unki beti apni maa ke sath rahe sake isliye woh khud hi ghar chhod kar chale gaye.

Neil's Lawyer: Thank you Saraswati ji. Aap jaa sakti hain. Your honour, Mrs. Sandhu aur Saraswati ji ke mutabik Mr. Oberoi bohot shant swabhav ke hain. Bachho ke sath bhi inka vyavhaar acha hai. Toh yeh keh dena ki unki khud ki beti unke sath unsafe rahegi yeh kuch theek nahi hai.
Aur jis gusse ki baat Saraswati ji ne ki hai uski wajah hai Mrs. Isha Oberoi ka dhokha. Mrs. Oberoi ne apne hi pati ke dost ke sath naajayaz sambandh banaye aur Mr. Oberoi ko dhokha dia. Aise mein kisi bhi pati ko gussa aana toh jayaz hai!

Isha's Lawyer: I object my lord! Yeh jis dhokhe ki baat kar rahe hain iska saboot kya hai?

Neil's Lawyer: Saboot bhi hai aur gawah bhi. Your honour, main apne agle gawah Mr. Rithwik ko witness box mein bulane ki ijaazat chahta hoon.

Rithwik came in the witness box smirking at stunned Isha.

Neil's Lawyer: Mr. Rithwik, kaise jaante hain aap Mrs. aur Mr. Oberoi ko?

Rithwik: Isha ko main pehle se nahi janta tha. Neil mera best friend tha aur kyunki Isha uski wife hai toh hum sab doston ka milna hota raheta tha. In dono ki shadi se pehle main Isha ko Neil through hi mila tha, hum sab friends ki ek get-together thi. Uske baad se hum achhe dost ban gaye aur aksar milte rahte the. Shadi ke baad bhi milte the hum sab. Ek din Neil ke ghar hi party thi jisme Neil ne Isha aur mujhe sath dekh lia tha. That was not the last time! Uske baad hum dono kab itne kareeb aa gaye hume bhi pata nahi chala. We crossed our limits and openly accepted our relationship in front of Neil. The way Neil reacted was quite natural. Usne gusse mein ghar ki cheeze todni shuru kar di aur phir wahi kia jo hum dono chahte the. He left his house and I shifted there. Phir kuch time baad Isha ne ajeeb behave karna shuru kar dia. Baatein chupana, der tak ghar se bahar rahena. When I confronted her she said there was nothing between us. Lekin aaj bhi ek cheez hai jo mujhe aur Isha ko puri tarah alag nahi kar paayi. Keya! Isha aur meri beti.

Isha fumed in anger. Mini couldn't believe what she heard whereas Neil was just numb. He didn't react in any way. Mini looked at him.

Mini (whispering): Neil! What is he saying? Yeh kya bole jaa raha hai. Tum kyun chup ho?

Neil (without looking at her): Woh sach bol raha hai!

Flashback

In Delhi:

Neil: Rithwik, I need your help. Tum jante hi ho ki itne time se Isha aur mera divorce case chal raha hai. Kyun nahi ho raha hai ye bhi tumhe pata hi hai! Mujhe apni beti se milna ka hakk chahiye par Isha mujhe meeting rights nahi de rahi. Agar tum help kardo toh...

Rithwik: Meeting rights? (Smirks) Kis baat ke?

Neil was confused.

Neil: Kis baat ke matlab? She is my daughter and I have every right to meet her.

Rithwik: Oh, poor Neil! Tum kitne bhole ho! Woh kya hai na, birth certificate par father's name ki jagah tumhara naam hone se yeh sabit nahi ho jata ki tum Keya ke father ho.

Neil: Kya bol rahe ho! Saaf saaf bolo jo kehna chahte ho.

Rithwik: Theek hai...agar tum saaf saaf sunna chahte ho toh! Tum jo meeting rights ki demand kar rahe ho, pehle yeh toh pata karo ki tum usko deserve karte bhi ho yaa nahi...Sorry, main saaf saaf batane wala tha naa...toh saaf, seedhi bhasha mein...Keya is not your daughter!

Neil was jolted on the revelation. He couldn't believe his ears.

Neil (furiously): Yeh kya bakwas hai!!

I know...tum yeh baat aise nahi maanoge. I want to show you something. Ek minute!

Rithwik brought some papers.

Rithwik: Yeh kuch medical reports ki copies hain mere paas. Original tumhe Isha se yaa hospital se mil jaaengi. Par Isha toh tumhe kuch degi nahi...toh hospital hi jaana padega.

He handed over the report to Neil. It was a paternity test report which clearly stated that Rithwik was Keya's father. Neil was just numb. He couldn't react. He couldn't breathe and looked lifeless. Rithwik's confession echoed in his ears. This made him realise that he had already lost his daughter, but she was never his daughter! Could this fact change his feelings for her? He broke down and sat on the floor. The only thing he could say was...

Neil (looking at Rithwik): Aisa kaise ho sakta hai?

Rithwik: Waise hi jaise hota hai! Ab tum soch rahe hoge ki yeh sab main tumhe ab kyun bata raha hoon...Woh filhaal important nahi hai. Abhi mere khayal se tumhe hospital jaana chahiye...agar in copies par trust nahi hai toh!

Neil got it confirmed from the hospital and also got the original reports with Rithwik's help. He looked disturbed, felt that he had lost everything. He was walking on the road, all alone, couldn't understand what to be done next. His world had changed in a few minutes. He kept on wandering on the roads of Delhi before reaching Patiala.

Flashback ends

Mini: What? Yeh kya...kaise!

Judge: Silence! Silence!

The lawyer handed over the original reports to the judge. He read the documents carefully after which he announced the decision.

Judge: Sabhi sabooto aur gawahon ko madde nazar rakhte huye yeh adaalat iss nateeje par pahunchi hai ki Mrs. Isha ne apne pati ko dhokha dia hai, isliye inhe alimony nahi di jaaegi aur kyunki Mr. Neil ka naam birth certificate par hai toh unhe meeting rights diye jaate hain. (Thanks a ton, Roshni roshniluthra. This has been the most difficult part to write, especially the court scenes)
The case is adjudicated!

Everybody started moving out of the courtroom. Mini was still in deep shock. Neil got up and started moving, leaving Mini behind. Mini followed him. On the other hand Rithwik came to Isha.

Rithwik: Hi sweetheart! Kaisa lag raha hai haar ke?

Isha: Tumhari problem kya hai? Kya kia tumhe yeh... I'll see you later.

She followed Neil.

Isha: Neil! Neil!!

Neil was still walking aimlessly, lost in thoughts. He didn't hear her. Mini came in between and dragged her a side.

Mini: Don't! Just stay away!!

Isha: Mini, I need to talk to him.

Mini: Kya baat karni hai ab? Itna kuch toh kar chuki ho, ab kya raheta hai?

Mini suddenly realised that Neil was nowhere to be seen.

Where has Neil gone?
