Part - 63
Neil was continuously grumbling. Somebody came from behind and tapped on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Mini. A spotlight fell on their faces. Neil just kept on looking at her with amazement. He couldn't utter a single word.
Mini: What? Aise kya dekh rahe ho Neil Oberoi?
Neil: (to himself) Yeh kuch dino se ho kya raha hai mere sath?
He again turned around and called for Bobby.
Neil: Bobby kahan hai yaar?
Mini: 😧
She came in front of him and held his collar.
Mini: Tum mujhe ignore kar rahe ho Neil Oberoi? How dare you! Main itni dur se specially tumhare liye aayi hoon aur tumne mujhe dekh kar muh pher lia?
The way she held his collar and started yelling scared the hell out of him.
Neil: T...tum...kya kar rahi ho yeh?
Mini: Tum meri chodo. Yeh batao tumari himmat kaise huyi mujhe ignore karni ki?
Neil: Main koi ignore nahi kar raha. Tum...tum sach mein..?
She left his collar.
Mini: What? Yakeen nahi ho raha?
He just shook his head without saying anything. Mini smiled at his innocence. She kept her one hand on his cheek, leaned a little forward and kissed his other cheek.
Mini: (slowly) Happy birthday, Chef Neil Oberoi.
Neil was taken a back. He couldn't react. He just stared at her open-mouthed.
Mini: Ab aise dekhna band karoge tum? Shayad mera aana tumhe achha hi nahi laga. Koi baat nahi. Main vapas chali jati hoon.
She started moving but he held her hand and pulled her into a warm hug. They closed their eyes. A peaceful smile appeared on their faces. The lights went on but they didn't realise it. They were still in each other's embrace before Bobby, Preet, Saumya, Mickey and Arya shouted...
Everybody: HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEIL!
They parted. Neil was shocked to see everyone there. Arya ran upto Mini and hugged her. Everybody gave gifts to Neil.
Neil: Thank you so much guys. Lekin tum sab...kya ho raha hai yeh? Mini tum...kaise?
Mini smiled sheepishly and slowly they all burst out into a laughter. Neil just looked on at them.
Neil: What? Tum sab hass kyun rahe ho? Oh! Bobby??
Bobby:😂 Sorry Neil bhai. Par yeh sab Mini ka plan tha.
Neil: Of course! Par Mini, tumne bataya bhi nahi ki aa rahi ho tum? Main kab se puch raha tha tumse?
Mini: Bata deti toh tumhare yeh expressions kaise dekh paati?
Neil smiled at her and she smiled back. They looked into each other's eyes, completely forgetting whom they were surrounded by.
Saumya: Ahem ahem...dekho inn dono ko! Ek dusre mein aise kho gaye hain ki humara yahan hona bhi inhe yaad nahi hai.
They broke the eye lock.
Saumya: Tum dono ka ho gaya ho toh cake cut kare? Bahot mehnat se banaya hai yaar maine.
Neil cut the cake and fed Mini and others.
Neil: Mujhe abhi tak ek baat samajh nahin aayi.
Bobby: Kya?
