Two days later, they all left for Patiala. As everybody was extremely exhausted, they went to their respective homes. In the evening, Mini came out of her room and saw Neil preparing something in the kitchen.

Mini: Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?

Neil: Dinner bana raha hoon.

Mini: Tum thake nahi kya? Rani didi se bol dete. Aaj woh dinner bana deti.

Neil: It's okay Mini. Ab toh ho gaya hai almost. Achha ek baat batao, tum kya keh rahi thi uss din? Something special is lined up...Kya?

Mini: Dadu Biji ki anniversary hai parso. You know what Neil! Har chhote bade occasion par naa, Babes apne haatho se cake banati thi. Aur jab bhi Dadu Biji ke liye kuch special karti thi toh unn dono ke liye toh wahi sab kuch hota tha. Issi baat se khush ho jate the dono ki Babes ne specially unke liye cake banaya hai. Is baar Babes toh nahi hai par main unn dono ke liye kuch karna chahti hoon. Babes ki jagah toh nahi le sakti main par at least koshish kar sakti hoon ki unhe Babes ki kami mehsoos na ho. Aur yeh toh aur bhi special day hai unke liye, it's their 50th anniversary! Golden jubilee celebration!

Neil: That's great! Phir toh humein celebrate karna chahiye.

Mini: Haina? Main bhi soch rahi thi ki unko surprise dena chahiye. Par time bahot kam hai aur...

Neil: Don't worry madam. Yeh sab tum mujh par chhod do. I'll handle.

Mini: Thank you Neil. Waise hum jab se aaye hain ek baar bhi Dadu Biji se mile nahi. Chalo na unse mil kar aata hain. Yeh sab tum baad mein karna.

She turned off the gas and held his hand. They descended the stairs and were going to Naeem Bi's house when the doorbell rang. Mini opened the door and saw Dadu, Biji and Naeem Bi.

Mini: Dadu Biji! Hum aap se hi milne aa rahe the.

Biji: Rahene de tu! Itni der se aayi huyi hai par apne Dadu Biji ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe.

Mini: Aise kyun keh rahe ho aap Biji? Aapko kaise bhool sakte hain hum?

Dadu: Arre Shammi ji kya aap bhi! Bachhe aaye nahi ki aapki shikhayatein shuru ho gayi. Kaisa hai mera sher bachha?

Mini: Bilkul theek hoon Dadu. Humne aap sab ko bahot miss kiya.

She hugged them together and greeted Naeem Bi. Neil too greeted them and they all sat in the hall.

Dadu: Achha ab bahot hasi mazak ho gaya. Humein tum dono se bahot zaroori baat karni hai.

Mini and Neil: (together) Zaroori baat?

They exchanged looks and then looked at the elders who seemed to be very serious.

Mini: Kya ho gaya? Itna serious kyun lag rahe ho aap sab? Kya baat karni hai aisi?

Biji: Toh aur kya kare? Tum dono toh kabhi hoge nahi serious. Par humein toh fikr hai naa tumhari.

Mini: Aap kya bol rahe ho Biji? Kuch samajh nahi aa raha mujhe.

Neil: Haan. Mujhe bhi. Saaf saaf boliye naa.

Naeem Bi: Arre Allah Maaro! Tum dono ko kuch samajh aata bhi hai? Har baat samjhani padti hai.

Biji: Dekho bachho, tum dono ek hi ghar mein itne waqt se reh rahe ho. Mini teri zidd thi toh hum bhi chup rahe. Tumne bola ki tum ghoomne jana chahte ho, humne tab bhi kuch nahi kaha. Ab kar liya naa tum dono ne apne mann ka? Toh ab ek baat humari bhi maan lo. Ab aise hi rehna hai toh pehle shaadi kar lo tum dono. Phir jahan chahe jana aur jaise chahe rehna. Hum kuch nahi kahenge.
