Naeem Bi Amidst Romance

Part - 26

Neil pulled her towards himself and they shared an eye lock.

Neil: Now I got it, Mini madam! All these decoration, lights and candles...achha fassa dia aaj tumne!

Mini (gently holding his shirt's collar): So, Neil Oberoi, kaisa lag raha hai fasne ke baad?

He kept his hands on her waist.

Neil: This is an eternal bliss! Mini, if I know what love is, it is because of you. I couldn't ask for anything better than this. I feel endless joy when I see your deep eyes, the eyes which contain all the love and respect for me. I can see it in your eyes. Aur sirf aaj se hi nahi! Maine dekha hai tumhari aankhon mein, kaise tum mujhe apni aankhon se chhune ki koshish karti thi, pehchanne ki koshish karti thi (Mini smiled inwardly thinking about the letter)...aur main har baar peeche hatt jata tha...but I promise Mini, ab aisa kabhi nahi hoga. Ab tumhari inn aankhon mein disappointment nahi hogi. Main tumhe zyada kuch toh promise nahi kar sakta bas itna keh sakta hoon ki...I want to grow old with you!

Mini kept on looking at him for a while.

Neil: Ab aise hi dekhti rahogi ya kuch bologi bhi?

Mini: What? You're unbelievable, Neil Oberoi! I was the one who initiated it. Tum toh bhaag rahe the bina jawab diye. Mujhe jo kehna tha maine keh dia hai...I don't have anything else to say!

Neil: Fine, let's sleep then. Waise bhi tumhari yeh candles barish se bujh rahi hain.

They shifted the candles under the shed. Mini lit the candles again.

Neil: Mini, this balcony has a special place in our lives. I mean, we have so many good and not so good memories that we created here. This place is like an ocean that has connected its two opposite shores together.

Mini: Wah, Neil Oberoi. Kya baat hai! Kafi figurative language use karne lage ho. But you know...this is the reason I've chosen this place. And you're right! Humari iss chhoti si balcony ka bahot bada role hai humari life mein.

Suddenly, Neil held her hand and pushed her towards the wall. He kept his one hand on the wall and the other on her waist.

Mini: Neil, w...what are you doing?

He blew air on her face giving chills to her body. She closed her eyes and blushed. He came close and kissed her cheeks. She opened her eyes, looked at him and slightly pushed him away. She was about to go but he took her in his arms and twirled. They smiled whole-heartedly. Their laughing souls could be heard by the silent night and the cold breeze that was still blowing to indicate the nature's way of blessing them. By this time, drizzling had stopped but the bright moon light was falling upon them.

Yeh kya baat hai aaj ki chandni mein
Ke hum kho gaye pyar ki ragini mein
Yeh baahon mein baahein, yeh behki nigahein
Lo aane laga zindagi ka maza

Yeh raatein, yeh mausam, nadi ka kinara, yeh chanchal hawa...

The door bell rang...

Neil: Iss time kaun aa gaya?

Mini: I don't know, Dadu Biji toh subah aayenge.

Neil: Go, open the door!

Mini: Mujhe neeche toh utaro!

Neil: Oh, sorry.

They went downstairs. Mini opened the door.

Mini: Dadi Amma, aap...iss time? Aap Dadu Biji ke sath nahi gaye?

Naeem Bi: Nahi, main bhi chali jati toh yahan kaun rheta? Aur phir tere Dadu Biji ne bola ki woh dono bhi aaj yahan nahi hain toh main aaj raat tere paas ruk jaaun. Chal ab, so jaate hain...tum dono ne khana kha liya naa?

Mini and Neil exchanged looks.

Naeem Bi: Arre aise kyun khade ho dono? Aur yeh kya...ab tak kapde bhi nahi badle?

Mini: A...woh...humne abhi...just abhi khana khaya hai. Hum change karne hi jaa rahe the...Tum yahan kyun khade ho? Jaao, change your clothes...sona nahi hai kya?

Neil: Yeah...of course...good night!

Naeem Bi: Ek minute! Tum dono ne itni der se kyun khaya khana?

Mini: Der se kyun khaya...(looks at Neil) Kyun khaya der se?

Neil shrugged off his shoulders. Naeem Bi was totally confused.

Mini: Dadi Amma...woh...der se isliye khaya kyunki....Neil! Dadi Amma...yeh Neil bahot late aaya tha aaj restaurant se! Abhi kuch adhe ghante pehle hi aaya hai...phir isne dinner banaya aur abhi humne khaya hai. Isliye...late ho gaya.

Naeem Bi: Adhe ghante pehle...lekin yeh toh....

Mini: Ch...chalo naa, dadi amma! Sote hain...mujhe toh bahot neend aa rahi hai. Subah restuarant bhi toh jana hai. Aur tum abhi bhi yahin ho...jaao naa!

They went to their respective rooms. But Naeem Bi noticed the balcony's door which was open. She was going to close it but Mini saw her.

Mini: DADI AMMA! K...kahan jaa rahe ho aap?

Naeem: Darwaza khula hai balcony ka. Band kar deti hoon.

Mini: Mai...main karti hoon naa! Aap jaao, so jaao.

Naeem Bi: Ek hi baat hai...main kar dungi.

Mini: Nahi Dadi Amma. Main hoon naa...aur mere kuch kapde bhi hain...bahar. Main woh bhi le aati hoon aur darwaza band kar dungi...aap room mein jaao.

Naeem Bi: Mini, bahar toh barish ho rahi thi! Tere kapde toh bheeg gaye honge. Main le aati hoon.

Mini: Nahi! K...kapde...kapde nahi hai bahar...woh mujhe yaad aaya abhi abhi...maine pehle hi rakh diye the andar...room mein. Bahar kuch nahi hai!

Naeem Bi: Haye nigori, toh darwaza toh band karne de...hawa bhi itni thandi hai.

Mini: Haan, wahi toh...tabhi toh bol rahi hoon ki main...main karti hoon naa band. Aap mat jaao...hawa thandi hai naa toh th..thand lag jaaegi aapko.

Before Naeem Bi could say anything else, Mini rushed to the balcony and removed all the lights and hid the candles. She closed the door and went to her room.

Naeem Bi: Mini, darwaza band karne mein itni der laga di!

Mini: Woh...darwaza...band hi nahi ho raha tha...barish huyi thi naa...toh jam ho gaya...badi mushkil se band kia hai! Chalo, so jaate hain.

They laid down on the bed but Mini was thinking about Neil with a bright smile on her face. Neither of them could sleep on empty stomachs. After making sure that Naeem Bi had slept, Mini went out of her room and saw Neil in the hall.

Neil and Mini (Together): Soye nahi abhi?

Neil and Mini: Bookh lagi hai!

Neil heated the food and they ate together in the hall.
