Soulless Dream of Amaris

Chapter 10

     Araw-araw ay nag-uusap kami ni Dan at kinakamusta ang isa't-isa. Nagsisimula na rin akong magpost sa social media accounts ko tungkol sa amin. Ngunit, sinisigurado ko na hindi ito makikita ng aking pamilya o sino man na hindi malapit sa akin.

Ika nga ni Angelica, yung isa ko pang kaibigan, na magkakaroon talaga siya ng Diabetes dahil sa sweetness namin ni Dan.

Natatawa lamang ako sa sinasabi niya at napapailing. Ang bilis nga naman ng panahon at malapit na ang 1st Monthsary namin. Hindi ako yung tipo na binibigyang halaga masyado ang monthsary pero nakakapanibago lang siya sa akin. Buti nalang at wala namang napapansin si mama.

"Hoy baklaaa~" Tawag ni Dein sa akin habang nasa Discord kami. Dein is one of my closest friends and ang pinakabibo sa aming lahat.

"Grabe ka, hindi mo man lang sinabi sa akin na sinagot mo na pala yung lalakeng 'yon!" Nagtatampong sambit niya.

Napatawa ako ng malakas dahil sa ka kyutan niya.

"We wanted to be lowkey muna," Sagot ko.

Dahil sa sinabi kong iyon ay ngumiti naman si Dein at sinabing nasa amin ang buong supporta niya.

So far everything has been going smoothly for the both of us despite having to keep our relationship a secret from my family.

Days went on at napaisip ako kung ano ba ang kaibahan kung hindi kami LDR ni Dan. The feeling would have been surreal. I want to experience going on dates with him. To travel and witness every beautiful moment with him. I wonder how amazing it would be.

"Are you asleep na, luv?" Biglang nagchat sa akin si Dan.

Yawning, I tried to stop myself from dozing off just to talk to him.

"Not yet," Sagot ko. "Akala ko ba maaga ka matutulog ngayon kasi busy ka bukas?"

"You give me energy, Mari." His soothing voice gave me chills as he continued, "Sleep doesn't give me as much strength as you do."

Here he is again with his sweet talking skills. One thing I love about him.

"What a sweet talker," I chuckled.

"Only when I'm with you," He laughed and kept talking. "I'm excited to celebrate our 1st monthsary tomorrow, luv. I wish we could meet soon and celebrate it together."

Napangiti ako sa kaniyang sinabi at nanalangin na magkatotoo lahat ng iyon.

"Soon, luv."

Dahil nga panay na ang paghikab ko ay pinatulog na ako ni Dan. Nag "goodnight" kami sa isa't-isa at nagpaalam.

Buong gabi ay ramdam ko pa rin ang excitememt at kilig. Sa pagpatuloy ng aking paghikab ay hindi ko na namalayan na nakatulog na pala ako.

Maaga ako nakagising dahil sa ingay ng aking aso. Nag-ayos ako ng aking buhok at tiningnan ang aking cellphone kung may mga bagong notifications ba ako. Active 7 hours ago si Dan kaya baka tulog pa iyon.

Buong araw ay tinulungan ko lang si mama sa paglilinis ng bahay. Inayos ko na rin ang mga damit ko sa closet.

Papalapit na ang gabi at hindi pa rin active si Daniel sa socmed. Kahit na 1st monthsary namin ngayon ay naiintindihan ko naman kung bakit busy siya. Abala siya sa pag-aaral tungkol sa family business nila.

Nakahiga na ako sa kama ng tumunog ang phone ko.

Sa sobrang saya ay napa-upo ako ng maayos. Unti-unting uminit ang aking pisngi.

"Luv"

"Happy 1 month!"

"I'm sorry, 'di ako nakapag message earlier kasi ngayon lang kami nakauwi."

   "Grabe, it has been a month na pala ever since sinagot mo ako. Mari, I know that it was a very hard decision for you na sagutin ako especially since 'di nga pwede. But remember,  I will always respect your decisions and boundaries. If time will come na ayaw mo na or 'di na kaya, then just talk to me and I'll understand. Thank you so much for being the light during my dark times and for being my motivation. Luv, always remember na I'm not a famous tiktoker nor a younger brother of an actor, but just someone who has a dream to defend innocent people. And you are part of that dream, Mari.  I know we still have a long way to go and for sure many problems will come in our way but we are in this together. Happy monthsary, my love!"

While reading his heartfelt message, I didn't realize the tears pouring down my cheeks. His sincerity and love was beyond what I expected. Daniel made me feel like a queen in every possible way.

Wiping my tears, I started typing.

    
       "Who would have thought that I would fall for a guy whom I've actually met personally before and not just from the internet. February 2020, a year when we met in a cafe. It's amazing how we were brought together by destiny. Thank you for all the love and support you gave me ever since, luv. I know my message is not as long as yours but, remember that I love you more than you think I do. Happy 1st monthsary, my one and only love!"

I sent it to him and turned off my phone. Setting it on my side table, I wiped off the tear stains on my face. That night I slept with a soft smile on my face.
