Epilogue – IV

"Shivin, idhu correct ah iruka?" Ashwin's voice was heard while camera screen captured only his ears and part of hair.

(Shivin, is this okay?)

A little boy of ten climbed on a stool and adjusted the phone such that the camera captured the small part of kitchen along with his father.

"Done pa!" he said as he jumped down the stool making his father shriek, "Paathu da." Shivin shrugged at his father with a smile. "Apdiye amma maari. Vaalu." Ashwin mumbled to himself as he turned to phone screen and checked how he looked.

(Done!)

(Careful)

(Reckless like his mother)

"Ready ah?" Ashwin asked no one in particular but answer came from his sweetheart.

"Appa, ready!"

Ashwin turned around and smiled at his six year old daughter Sia. With his mother's lively eyes and father's radiant smile, Sia was a cute angel they were blessed with four years after Shivin. As much as Ashwin loved his first born with his whole heart, a daughter completed his life. Sia's one smile and Ashwin can pledge his whole existence for it.

Ashwin walked to his daughter who was seated on high stool beside the kitchen island neatly wiping the fruits that he instructed her to. She was as pedantic and dedicated as Ashwin along with picking his other traits like his shy nature and sweet personality.

"Nee dan kutty ma best." Ashwin kissed his daughter's forehead earning a sarcastic chuckle from Shivin who climbed on the stool beside Sia. "Sirikama kudutha velai paaru."

(You are the best sweetheart)

(Do what I asked you to)

"Adhudan paakaren." Shivin said putting few chocolate buttons in his mouth not immediately concentrating on sieving the flour as his father instructed.

(I am doing)

Why would even his father think Shivin will start working before having his fair share of chocolates?

"Anna, enaku." Sia forwarded her hand. Before Shivin could give it to her, Ashwin took the pack from his son and placed it in his daughter's hand. "Nee saapdu ma."

(Save some for me)

(Have it, baby)

Leaving his kids with menial jobs, Ashwin returned to where he had everything arranged. Looking at the phone, Ashwin took a deep breath.

"Hi!" he waved awkwardly. "Ennada Shivangi vlog la naan enna panren nu pakareengala?" He chuckled. "Naanga idhu shoot panradhu, ippo 24th May. Nalaiku Shivangi birthday. Avanga recording poirukanga. Late ah dan varuvanga. So, naan oru surprise plan panren." Ashwin lifted two bowls in hand that had ingredients that he wanted. "Actual ah naan bake panradhu veeda indha vlog panradhu dan avangaluku surprise. Ungaluke enaku naan vlogging ellam perusa pudikadhu. Idhu naan Shivangi kaga panren. So..." he patted his hands together. "Indha vlog neenga soon, edit ellam panni, avanga channel la papeenga."

(Hi! Are you surprised to see me in Shivangi's vlog? We are shooting this on may 24th night. Tomorrow is Shivangi's birthday. She is in a recording now. She will be back late. So, I am planning a surprise for her. I guess surprise will be this vlog and not what I am going to bake. You know I don't like vlogging much. This is for Shivangi. So, you will see this vlog soon after editing.)

Ashwin sighed after successfully saying what he had rehearsed. Why was this more difficult than acting out pages of monologue?

"Okay va kids?" Ashwin shouted
