Red Paige Leon

I woke up feeling nauseous, don't worry, I'm not pregnant. I didn't have a one night stand, I have so much insecurities to even show much skin to other people--especially men.

I don't party but I don't shame those who does it. Isa pa, I'm only fourteen. I may have change my mind later but for now I'd rather stay in my zone. I know I can fake being an adult and get in parties like the other teens my age but I'm not in the mood for it...yet.

Bumangon ako at dumiretso sa kusina, I almost tripped because my body feels so heavy, I've been sick since yesterday. I'm used to it, I don't have the best immune system, but I'll get better soon anyway.

As usual, my Dad is not around. He's at work, he's a Mass Communication graduate and he works now at a publishing company. It's pretty interesting, I am happy that he's starting to find his purpose again, after how many failures he had experienced.

"Hey, Jude!" I called our adopted dog. I pet him and he showed me his belly, I prefer his company more than anybody else. I searched for his plate and saw that there was a trace of food, my Dad must've fed him earlier.

"Pula!" I heard a shout, it's from outside. I rolled my eyes, she'll bug me again, she just can't comprehend that my name is Red and not Pula but she said it's the same thing, I got tired of telling her to stop calling me that way.

"Ang tagal naman buksan," reklamo niya pag bukas ko at sinuri ang buo kong pagkatao.

Jude barked and welcomed her, they get along.

"Ano 'yan, feeling sick?" she asked the obvious, seeing my condition.

I rolled my eyes, "As usual," I said. Oddly, I get sick every year three days before my birthday, hindi ko alam kung bakit, hindi naman ako nag eengage sa extreme activities. My twin, Blue, don't get sick naman so it's weird.

"Hindi ko alam kung coincidence lang or sinasadya mo lang talaga para hindi ka lumabas kapag birthday mo?" she asked bluntly bago magtungo sa ref at abutin ang chips sa ibabaw non. She's so at home.

"You think I want to get sick? I hate breathing with only one hole of my nose functioning." I hate being sick, and it's not like I did it on purpose. I'm a walking trouble but I go to school, and when I get sick, iyon ang mga araw na absent ako.

"Tignan mo hindi ka manlang nag suklay, sinasayang mo lang ang biyaya mong kagandahan," sabi niya. Hindi ko alam kung pinupuri ba niya ako o iniinsulto, sa palagay niya ba ay may oras pa akong pansinin ang mahaba kong buhok habang may sakit ako?

"Ano ka VIP?" sagot ko sakaniya na ikinairap lang niya.

"Ano na, may assignment ba? and you're late," I asked and scolded her, she's being so noisy. The class ended like two hours ago.

"Ang bossy ha, oh ayan na. Nasagutan ko na rin 'yan sa room, hindi ako sure sa iba, 'wag mo akong sisihin ah!" she said at inabot ang libro at notebook niya.

I smiled, August is dependable and despite us bickering, she's the only trusted friend I have. She's cheerful at totoong tao, hindi rin siya 'yung tipo na magpapanggap para magustuhan siya ng tao.

"Tsk, this better be correct," I grabbed her books and walked out of the living room to go to my room upstairs.

"You're welcome ha!" she shouted sarcastically.

She'll hang around there for a good three hours, she'll watch movie in the living room, then she'll either leave or have a sleepover in here.

Madalas naman ako mag-isa so I have no problem having her around, she also get along with Jude.
