Lately, I have been entertaining the thoughts of transferring to another school. Specifically, sa school ni Blue sa kabilang city. Mahihirapan siguro akong magcommute araw-araw, pero at least hindi masama ang reputation ko ron. New people, new environment. Tsaka kasama ko si Blue so I'll be alright.
"Jude? Come here, baby!" I called our dog.
I woke up earlier than my usual waking time kaya naman naisipan kong mag jog around, bago ako mag handa for school later.
"Good boy," I pet Jude's head and he wag his tail in response.
Sinigurado kong naka-lock ang pinto bago ko kinuha ang dulo ng tali ni Jude. Jude is already five years old, he's not getting any younger kung sa life span ng dogs, but he's still as active and as playful, madalas din namin siyang dinadala sa vet for check-up to make sure he's all healthy.
"Run, baby! Run!" I told Jude, he joyfully did as I told at nagsimula na kami tumakbo around the village.
I put my earpods on earlier so I am now enjoying a good music, under a pleasant morning sun, beside my favorite buddy. Sa pagtakbo ay hindi ko na namalayan na ang daan pa lang natakbuhan ko ay patungo sa bahay nila Gray.
I was about to move forward when I saw a woman very familiar to me, she is outside their house.
It was Gray's older sister! Omg, she's as pretty as ever. Naaalala ko pa noong elementary kami, Gray's sister I think is in senior high that time, parati siyang pambato sa inter-branch pageants. I look up to her because of her style.
I gasped when I saw her carrying a baby, I didn't know she's already married! Looks like she's back to visit.
Nahiya na ako sa kakanuod sa kaniya kung kaya't nagpatuloy na ako sa pag-jog.
"Red?"
I saw his mouth mentioned my name, I didn't heard him though, I'm wearing earpods.
Tumango lang ako at bumalik sa pag jog..."Jude, come on!" I told my dog, huminto kase siya nang makita si Gray, he was jogging as well, pero sa tingin ko ay pabalik na siya sa kanila.
Huminto muna ako before I paused my music, umupo ako sa gutter para pantayan ang baba ni Jude, "Bad boy," I told him, he just wags his tail kahit pinapagalitan ko siya dahil sa hindi niya pagsunod sa'kin.
"Hi, Jude!" tawag niya dito, muntik na akong madala ng biglang tumakbo si Jude papunta sa kaniya.
Sandali siyang nagulat bago natawa, "Sorry," nakangiting sabi niya.
Umirap ako, anong ningingiti-ngiti niya ngayon? Matapos niya akong simangutan for all these years? Hindi kami close and wala akong balak habulin siya.
"Jude, let's go." Sumunod naman siya sa'kin, tumayo na ako at paalis na sana ng mag salita siya.
"I'm sorry," I heard him say. Saktong namatay ang earpods ko. Lowbat na yata.
Something in my chest suddenly feels heavy, I don't know what he's sorry about, 'yon bang kahapon? It's nothing new.
Lumingon ako, "I don't mind. Don't worry, Gray. Sanay na 'ko," I said, smiling. His expression changed into guilt? Sadness? I can't really tell. Since the time he stopped being my friend, my mind just automatically stopped understanding him and trying to justify his actions towards me. I'm tired of trying.
"Una na kami," paalam ko na lang. For some reason, ayaw ko nang makipag-usap pa sa kaniya at pahabain pa ang conversation pretending we are some good friends.
Naligo na ako at naghanda, my Dad's out early kaya hindi ko siya naabutan kaninang umaga.
"F*ck," I cursed when I noticed that the shampoo bottle is now empty.
