Chapter 3

"Uh ...I'll... I'll go now good night Alex "

He said as he ran away towards his room. He..enjoys spending time with me...he is comfortable around me! That's some improvement,since when we first met we barely talked...

I closed the door and sat on my bed ready to read before going to bed

But i noticed that he blushed..was it because embarrassment or...

I'll talk to him tomorrow, until then I'll just focus on the book...
As i was reading i heard someone walking in the hallway, i got up and peeked through the door to see who it was, for extra safety i took my sword and slowly followed the person as i got closer..

"Stop right there. Who goes?"

The person turns around to face me and it's... Gene?

"I alarmed you didn't i?"
He said with a bit of laughter in his voice

"Yes you did, no one walks around at this hour... why are you awake anyway?"

"I could ask the same thing"

"I asked first Gene..where are you going anyway?"

"To the Chameleon,i can't sleep..."

"Can i come with you?"

"Sure why not"

We headed to the Chameleon and we sat in our seats,we sat in silence for a bit before i break the ice

"So earlier today... what you said..."

"Look Alex i actually... like spending time with you...you make me feel safe and i feel like I'm a different person with you around...you make me feel things I've never thought i would feel.."

I sat there, listening to him, feeling my face burning,i Didn't thought he'd be so open around me, it's..nice... he's...cute...

"Alex? Are you listening?"

"Yes! Yes sorry i was thinking of something.."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"Actually yes"

I don't know why am afraid if i don't risk i don't win..but i don't want to ruin our friendship...

"Well..im listening.."

"I like you,ok? You're smart, you're the perfection itself, thought it was pretty obvious i like you since I'm trying to spend more time with you.."

The silence was... awkward...i was waiting for him to say something..

"And here i was thinking that you don't share the same feelings...i overthink too much"

Hold on what did he say? Did he?..

"You feel the same?! For how long? Why didn't u told me?"

"I isn't the easiest thing to say! 'Hey look I'm in love with my best friend and he totally likes me back!' The chances were 50/50!"

We looked at each other before bursting in laughter can't believe we liked each other and had no courage to say it

"So that means.."

"Yeah..."

I got up and hugged him, felt him hugging back, can't believe it, it feels like a dream

"I love you Alex.."

"I love you too!"

"Wanna sleep in my room?"

"Sure,is it ok tho? what if someone catches us?"

I picked him up and started to walk back into the castle

"I'll think about that later now I'll focus just on you"

Heard him giggle a bit, never heard him giggle,it makes my heart melt, we get in my room and i place Gene gently on the bed with me on top of him

"What are we.. doing now?.."

"Cuddling..i dont want to let go of you..."

"You don't have to..."

I leaned in for a kiss, which i got it, gosh i didn't thought I'd be this lucky

"I think we should get some sleep"

"Yeah i agree"

I got next to him and hugged him once again

"Goodnight Gene.."

"Goodnight.."
