Venti's POV:
The chirping of the crickets and the distant hoot of an owl signalled the impending darkness. A short while later, I landed in the city of Mondstadt, sprinted to my house and shut the door behind me all without making a sound. Glancing around, I espied a silhouette outside the open window, but it vanished the next millisecond. Shrugging it off, I followed my daily routine before heading to bed.
I tossed about in bed. Sleep was slow to come as the day's events replayed in my head. I had wished to try out Liyue's new delicacy and catch up with my friends in Liyue during that unplanned visit, but Childe had to leave all of a sudden because, according to him, "Teucer was throwing a temper tantrum and he threatened to blow the town up unless he could see his eldest brother immediately." And so, he rushed home without a second's delay, only leaving his Mora-filled wallet behind.
Although it sounded improbable, I took it as the truth until Zhongli informed me that that was the excuse he used whenever it involved confidential Fatui stuff. At least we had enough Mora at hand. We proceeded to empty his wallet as we shopped for unusual knick-knacks. I snickered as I recalled Zhongli having to haul all those useless trinkets home.
My mind wandered over to my thoughts. Childe's disappearance had been an unexpected twist, but what did the girl have to do with it all? She certainly wasn't wearing Fatui uniform, nor did she have a standard Fatui mask, and there were no traces of the Fatui's symbol anywhere on her clothing. Perhaps she was a private messenger; perhaps she was just a fellow friend, though I hadn't seen friends that hostile to each other; or perhaps I was overthinking everything and it was all a coincidence that we ended up at that place, at that time.
Clearing my mind, I snuffed out the candle on my windowsill. The whole room was plunged into darkness, with only the soft glow of the moonlight to illuminate the surroundings. Soothing music begun to play from the radio and it wasn't long before I fell into a fitful sleep.

Stirring in my sleep, I rubbed my eyes. The warm sunlight filtered through the certains and hit my face, but it wasn't enough to blind my eyes. With a yawn, I snapped out of my dreamy state and made a beeline for the bathroom.
After three hours in the toilet and a delectable meal, I left my cozy abode. Like clockwork, I strolled towards the fountain, cuddling my precious lyre with soft, creamy hands. Commonfolk would be heading out for work at that hour. As the sun rose above the buildings, an audience had gathered before me.
"An apple for the bard's morning tune. Of course, payment in alcohol is welcome too!" I added, punctuating the sentence with a wide smile. Before long, my bag held a sea of freshly-picked apples and my performance officially began.
