Venti's POV:

"A Mondstaptus? Yes he is!" Klee exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear and bouncing like Jumpy Dumpty.

What? It was little surprise that someone as intelligent as Y/N became slightly aware of my true entity, but why did Klee say that?

"Uncle Kaeya said that he is the Holy Bard, the only one who can sing the Sacred Song of the Wind and summon the Dragon of the East!" Klee said enthusiastically, waving her hands dramatically.

"Wha-?" Speechless, I tilted my head and studied the child. Kaeya. That made sense.

"Hmph, an interesting interpretation of strange events," Y/N commented, thinking hard. "I must say, does this have anything to do with the Holy Lyre Der Himmel, by any chance?"

The stern look on her face caused my mind to form images that are totally unrelated to the subject. With a red tint on my cheeks, I admitted, "Erm... yeah, I used the Holy Lyre to summon Stormterror a while back."

"Interesting," she said, in the same serious voice. She was acting like a detective, or an investigator, and I began to wonder. Did the shadow have something to do with her?

Shadow. Spy. Fatui. It could be a bad omen. On this matter, my heart and mind disagree with each other. But if centuries of experience had taught me something, it was that I should follow my wit, and the things my wit whispered to me... corresponded to the workings of my mind.

The day went by and it left but a wisp of smoke in my memories. That was not to say it wasn't enjoyable, far from it, in fact, but a god's mind could only hold so much. My mind cast it aside faster than a fog can disperse. A pity, really, I didn't have many memories with Y/N... I wasn't even willing to lose one.

I would rather retain the memories of the number of times she smiled than be able to recall the two hundred and sixty-ninth time Zhongli spoke of Osmanthus Wine.

Y/N's POV:

With Scaramouche covering my job for me, time was my best friend, always there for me. And after spying on Venti a great ton, I deemed it too boring and headed to Dawn Winery for my next mission. I wasn't slandering Venti, though, because spying on someone who was drunk was really not my cup of tea.

Looking up at the stars, I rubbed my fingers against the texture of the Statue of Barbatos. From there, the view was exquisite and it was easy to get comfortable too. Only the gods know how much the Knights spent on it. The night breeze brushed past me, reminding me how wonderful and free everything in Mondstadt was. No wonder the people of Mondstadt were only too proud to call Mondstadt their home.

As perfect as the land of wind was, I couldn't help but miss... Liyue.

In fact, I was even beginning to miss the stupid gingerhead and his even dumber boyfriend.

I was dispatched there a couple of months ago, but screaming at Tartaglia had kind of become an everyday thing.

Signing, I kept my gaze on the sky. Whoever had created those stars was a genius. The perfect scene for a serene night.

"Tartaglia said that Lantern Rite's almost here, didn't he?" I whispered to myself while brushing my hands together. Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy the free show together with the most beautiful entity in the world?

I hopped off the statue and left the silent city with one goal: check out the celebrations over in Mond's neighbor.

Perhaps it was the result of my excitement, but the path to the land of geo seemed extra long that night. When I finally arrived, the dead silence in the air reminded me that it was the dead of the night. No one was going to be getting decorations ready at midnight! Unless-

"BOO!"

I clamped my mouth shut and spun around with my arrow pulled back. A girl around eighteen years of age stuck her tongue out at me and winked. Squinting, I tried to figure out where had I met her before. Her face seemed a tad bit too familiar.

"Welcome back! Here to buy the latest birch coffin? We have a discount for the Lantern Rite! 75% off, you can't miss it!" a familiar annoying voice rang in my ears.

"Coffin?" Realization dawned on me as I tucked my weapon away. What luck. Out of anyone I could have run into, it was Morax's immature boss.

"I know a traveler who kills lots of Fatui on a daily basis. A hobby, he called it! Why, don't you think you would need coffins, lady agent? 75% off!" Giggling, Director Hu spun on her heels and dragged me off to her workplace.

"Not interested," I shot her a cold stare, "I am here to check out the Lantern Rite.

And YOU are going to show me what it includes."
