Y/N's POV:

It was what a friend would do for another, nothing more. However, I found myself unable to tear my eyes from his peaceful, sleeping face. Brushing his dark, silky hair with my fingers, I was vaguely aware of a rare smile forming on my lips. Just the sight of him sleeping soundly tugged at my heartstrings.

Crickets chirped and owls hooted, creating a lovely mix of nature's lullabies. Hardly had I ever slept without guards or a stable tent, but sitting there and cuddling with Venti made me feel more guarded and secure than those ever had. Dozing off was hardly idle in the shallow areas of Whispering Woods, but was staying awake even an option in such comfortable circumstances?

I awoke to warm light rays hitting my face and blinked to adjust to the sunlight. "You're up, sleepyhead!" a cheerful voice exclaimed and I rubbed my eyes to clear my vision. "By the way, Zhongli told me to give you this. You know Zhongli, right?"

Venti was sitting cross-legged on the grass, all freshened up with an iconic bright smile on his face. In his two beautiful hands held an envelope as white as Snezhnayan snow. Batting his eyes, he caused my vision to fold around him. The view of his heavenly face could top the picturesque view from Starsnatch Cliff. I would think he was a god if I didn't know better.

"Uh, the words aren't on my face, Y/N. Since Klee is free today, we can accompany her again after you read the letter. If you wish to, that is," Venti waved the envelope in my face and bit his lip at the last sentence.

Looking away, I took the envelope from his delicate fingers, brushing past them in the process. An ordinary action of his had caused an abnormal reaction in my heart and I could've sworn it reached my cheeks too. Venti tilted his head, likely in confusion.

La Signora had spoken of a renowned alchemist in Mondstadt whose skills surpassed even that of Sumeru's best scholars. The late eighth Harbinger was never one to exaggerate, but I had my doubts. Maybe I could ask him if blushed cheeks and a rapidly beating heart were the results of a deadly curse. After all, I had been on Dragonspine recently, and corrupted blood flows through the very snow I stepped on. Who knew what could've happened?

Shaking those thoughts aside and attempting to block Venti's cute face from my vision, I tore open the envelope and unfolded the letter inside. A smile crept up my face as my eyes scanned the neat page.

The Mysterious Letter:

Hello, Y/N,

Her Majesty, The Tsaritsa isn't too happy with your failure to execute your missions efficiently and within the time limit. But I fully understand that you were working on a more important and pressing matter. Now that La Signora is no longer with us, we can conduct things more efficiently and quickly without her hilariously dumb plans and ideas. No worries, I'll cover up for you, dumbass.

From your understanding friend, Scara

What a sweet pal Scara is! I thought joyfully. "I think there's something on the back," Venti, who had been patient and silent the entire time, spoke up softly. I flipped the page hastily.

The Back of the Letter:

P.S. I asked Childe to pass this to Zhongli so he can give it to you because Childe's busy. However, I'm under the impression that you're presently in the city of Mond, so you might obtain this from a local in Mondstadt.

P.S.S. Retrieve the Gnoses as quickly as possible.

What Gnoses?
