Chapter Two

Yawning and wiping my eyes I looked over at Blake who was batting his eyes awake. I smiled at him and quickly sat up. We're in my room. Oh my god we're in my room and it's morning time. And I'm naked?! Oh shit. Quickly getting up I threw Blake's clothes at him while also rushing to grab my own, Blake got up and went into the bathroom that is connected to my room. Sniffing my pits I decided I needed to shower too. Grabbing a towel I headed into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and waiting for him to make it out.

"You can come in here, Gipsy. You've already seen me naked, so don't act surprised."

Sighing, I got in the shower and relaxed in the warmth of the water hitting me. Blake splashed some water at me and I pouted at him while the water ran down my face in little trickles. After taking a hot shower we both got out (no nothing happened you pervs), I looked outside my bedroom window after getting dressed in some pajamas and there sat my parents cars. They missed my birthday last night, but at least they came home.

"Gipsy!" Yelled my mother and I winced. I wonder how they'll take Blake being here, probably not well considering this is the first time I've gotten caught.

"Coming mom!" I yelled back behind the closed door, "Blake, I swear to god if you say something out of line I'll castrate you."

He snickered and rubbed my head like I was a child, "Gipsy it's fine. Your parents love me." He waltzed down the stairs and sat at the table where a huge breakfast sat. Big enough to feed an army to me. Sitting down at the table with my parents and Gipsy I looked for my little brother Kyle. Strange that he's not here, "Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Winter, how're you two this morning?" Of course he pulled out the formal English language. Jesus...

"We're doing lovely, Kyle, thank you for keeping my daughter preoccupied on her eighteenth birthday." my mom side-eyed me with mischief. Oh dear gods, here come the jokes.

"At least she is with a boy with some respect. You know I've always known you two would hit it off someday." my dad started to chuckle while grabbing food for his plate that was already full. Blake's face was stuffed with waffles as he started to choke after what my dad said.

Blushing I waited until everyone got some food and by the time it was my turn there wasn't much left. Grabbing the one waffle and three pieces of bacon I was content with my plate to be honest. Grabbing some butter and syrup I dressed my waffles and took a bite, "First off, dad, it was just some... fun. There isn't anything else going on especially when Blake has to find his mate here pretty soon."

Blake glared at me and it made me curious as to what peeved him off, "Speaking of mates, Gipsy, we took your little brother to Aunt Jeanine's house last night because we're going to Paris for the meeting. And that includes Blake with Jenna and Jack."

Ah, the twins Jenna and Jack. They're going to be the future Third in Command right behind my little brother when he becomes of age, "And, I have to go because...?"

"Because Gipsy it is your rightful duty as the daughter of a Beta. Just because you didn't want the title and just wanted to go run off with some mate of yours doesn't mean you can't have the training of one." he said sternly at me. Great I pissed him off.

"Dad, I'm not saying that I don't want the training. I don't want the responsibility of becoming a future Beta to this pack. That's not me!" I exclaimed at him a bit too loudly for his taste. Setting his jaw he stood up from the table with his massive figure looming over the table while staring directly at me.

His eyes never moved from mine, "Gipsy, if you don't find a mate at this meeting then you are becoming the next Beta for this pack until your brother comes of age. Then, and only then are you able to get rid of the duty you have to this pack. Now go, leave me and your mother alone. Go do something else with Blake and your time." he sneered at me like he didn't want me and Blake to be spending time together. But he just joked about it?

Huffing I got up and shoved the chair into the spot of the table where I was just sitting. Grumbling I got dressed into some comfortable clothes that consisted of sweatpants and a T-shirt. Blake came in and sighed while sitting next to me on my bed, "Your dad really got on your ass... come on let's go to the Shopping Center and find us some clothes for this meeting. You have to find a show stopping outfit for your mate-to-be."

Huffing we got up and left the house in his Jeep to the Shopping Center that was not too terribly far away. Walking around the different stores we collected a couple bags of clothing and shoes to make our month in Paris a bit easier to manage.

Sitting down at the food court in the mall I sipped on my smoothie while Blake went to town on his Chinese food, "So how's the Alpha life?"

Blake shrugged, "I'm not exactly ready to take it on. As soon as I find my mate it's time and I don't know if I'm going to be a good Alpha like my dad wants me to be." his eyebrows knitted together as he ate his meal.

"Blake, you'll be fine. I promise. You'll have me by your side for a little bit and then you'll have my brother." I tried to sound optimistic about the situation, but if he's not ready then he's not ready.

"I don't think I'd like to have your brother after you. We click so well together it's like we're finishing each other's--"

"Sandwiches!"

"No..? I was going to say sentences or thoughts." he eyed me weirdly as I sipped on my smoothie. Coughing out the awkward I sat there for a moment.

"Well, fine then. Let's go because we're supposed to be leaving for Paris in two hours and I have to pack my suitcase."

Riding back home was pretty quiet until Blake huffed, "Gipsy, why can't you date me instead?"

Whoa. This took a turn, "Blake what do you mean?"

Pulling over on the side of the road, Blake looked at me, "I'm being serious, Gipsy. We're happy and we never get into fights. We mesh well together and I don't understand why you won't just take me instead of anyone else."

Scoffing I looked at him, "One of the sole purposes in our life is to find our mate and truly be happy. Without your true mate one could not live their true happiness and then pass on to the Moon Goddess's Paradise?"

Blake pulled back onto the road with an eyeroll and a major scoff, "You believe that load of shit?"

"I mean, why wouldn't I? Everyone I have ever met as found their mate and has as a really good life with them."

Snorting, "Says you. My parents can't even be in the same room with each other anymore."

"Didn't your dad cheat on her?"

"That's not the point, Gipsy. And don't meddle in the gossip if you haven't actually asked me."

Looking at him while we pulled up into the driveway of my house I gathered my bags and slammed his door shut. What a son of a bitch he is.
