Chapter Twenty

Yawning and stretching in Jax's plush bed, I woke up to the morning with birds chirping and the sun shining, ah what a glorious morning. Hah. Just kidding, today's the day we find out what we're going to do about Brandon and his betrayal to Jax; unfortunately for him, Jax doesn't seem to let go of things so easy. Getting up to the go to the bathroom to brush my teeth I looked upon my pads and tampons chilling in their little blood box that I always keep in the bathrooms. Scrunching up my nose at my soon-to-be period I blinked rapidly, with my vibrating toothbrush still in my mouth I grabbed my phone and went to my period app quickly. Six days late.

Spitting out my toothpaste my eyes widened at the gray app and glanced over to a sleeping Jax, oh great. Nervously, I went to his bedside and poked him once. Twice. Thrice. He stirred and rubbed his eyes like a little kid and looked at me, "Yes, love?"

"Umm, I don't know how to say this," I mumbled. Grabbing my courage I stopped fiddling with the hem of my shirt, "I need to go to the pharmacy?"

"For what?"

"A-A pregnancy test?"

His eyes widened as he glanced down to my belly then back to my eyes, "I'm sorry?"

"Yeah, I, uh, need one? If one of your men could just go grab one for me. I'm pretty hungry for breakfast."

He nodded his head, grabbed his phone on his bed table and rang for whoever to go get me one. He groggily got out of bed and did his own beauty routine then came out ready for breakfast with me. Going downstairs I didn't realize how hungry I truly was until I opened the kitchen door and was met with sizzling bacon with beans and toast. Interesting breakfast that I haven't had yet.

"Beans and toast," I questioned looking at Jax, "isn't that more of a dinner option? With some red meat?"

He scoffed at me, "No, beans and toast can be a breakfast thing."

Shrugging my shoulders I was eating my breakfast calmly before a wave of nausea ran through my body causing me to shiver. Great. Just great, I was unsure before but now I'm one-hundred percent sure I am pregnant. One of Jax's workers came back and handed me a bag, then went off to do his own thing I'm sure. Glancing between the bag and Jax I laughed nervously, "Let me just go, uh, do this real quick."

Quickly getting up from the barstool I practically ran towards the bathroom and when I looked at the test it suddenly became real. We did have sex when I was in heat; we had sex right after Blake left to go back to America the first time. Sighing I took the test and when I was done it was an agonizing five minutes to wait until it showed the result. Positive. My hand shot straight to my mouth as I stared at the positive test that was seemingly staring straight back at me. Happiness. Happiness was the first emotion that went through my brain as my heart thudded in my chest.

Closing the bathroom door with the test in my hand I walked to Jax, and he was sitting in the same spot as if he never moved. Taking a big gulp I sat beside him with the test result hidden in my palm, "So what does it say," Jax said. Nodding my head quickly, I showed him the result and his whole face lit up with excitement and with a crushing hug he kissed my forehead.

"Jax, I'm so excited for us!"

"I know, love. I hope it's a girl," he whispered the last part.

"Me too, honestly. I'm not ready to tell my parents just yet," I warned him. I don't want them to know quite yet and honestly they won't know until I am probably married.

"Why not? My parents are going to be thrilled."

"I have no doubt that my won't be thrilled, but we might have this baby before we get married and my parents do not approve of a 'bastard' child," it hurt to say a 'bastard child' in all honesty. No one should ever be called that.

Jax snorted at the name of what my parents would call our child, "We can get married before you pop her out, alright?"

I nodded my head and sighed into Jax's arms feeling completely at ease until an ear-piercing alarm went off throughout the whole palace. What the fuck? Jax looked at me with unease and tensed up as he looked to the small TV screen next to the alarm, and it read 'Rogue Attack' and with those two words I've never seen a man move to quick in my life. He picked me up and led me to a safe room and I shook my head at him as other men and women of the palace were being put in here with me.

"Jax, I have to help you. What if something goes wrong? What if you get hurt?"

He shook his head at me and kissed my forehead, "No, Gipsy. You must stay here and help our people. They will be looking for guidance."

"Fine," I gave into his words of affirmation and grumbled. Being led into the safe room I sat down on one of the chairs with a huff. I'm going to get out of here. I can't be stuck in here no matter how much Jax wanted me to stay. What if he gets hurt? What will I do then? I can't run an entire organization without him here. And now I'm pregnant so how the hell am I supposed to take care of a baby by myself?

After about an hour sitting there I got up and walked over to the safe door and turned the knob to try to leave. Letting everyone know I will be right back I popped open the door and saw a guard on the other side of it, "Oh hello, sir---" I squinted at his nametag "sir Nightingale, could you be so kind to let me through?" He peered upon me and with a gruff no he turned back around to the hallway to stand watch. Rolling my eyes I walked out of the safe room and he called my name, "I'm sorry, but as your queen I'm going to need you to stand down. I have to go look for Jax."

Rolling my eyes I ran towards where everyone was battling at and looked around it trying to find him. Running quickly to the fray, I ran around trying to find Jax and of course he was right smack dab in the middle of it. Sighing in content as I did manage to dodge a couple of the people fighting, I was turning back to go back to the castle only to find a rogue pierce Jax with a stake. Panic set and I sprinted towards him watching him go down in his wolf form was terrifying to say the least. Another wolf grabbed a hold of the Rogue and clamped down on his neck as I fell beside Jax.

His side was bleeding profusely as the stake was driven into his side. Grabbing it, I quickly let it go with a cry as it burned my skin. Looking at the Rogues hands I realized they were wearing gloves, much like some of the others. Staring back down at the stake I grit my teeth and pulled the silver stake out of his side with a scream as it seared my flesh. He whimpered underneath me as the stake was safely out of his body.

"Doctor Sun," I screamed for help and he suddenly appeared next to me looking down at Jax.

"It's okay, I'm here, reine."
