chapter 3 | earth murderers

OLIVIA TOOK HER BAG AND CARRIED LUCAS IN HER ARMS before leaving to go to the Alvarez apartment. Olivia would always go to school with Elena and Alex since her parents never had time to bring her because of work that was in the way early in the morning and Lydia suggested that she took care of Lucas so that Marcelina and Thomas didn't need to hire a babysitter.

Olivia knocked on the door, fixing her hair neatly that was braided into two as usual with Lucas in her arms and two bags around her shoulders.

"Ay pelliroja, encantador, come in." Lydia greeted the two with a big smile on her face as she carried Lucas from Olivia's arms and took the bag that had his things in.

"Hola abuelita." Olivia said. Olivia looked over to see Alex fixing his hair in the reflection of the toaster and gave him a look of disbelief.
"What the hell are you doing?" Olivia laughed as she walked over to him.

"Fixing my hair? I need to impress my girls." Alex smirked.

"What girls?" She joked, still laughing as Alex shot her a glare.

"Okay everybody, let's go! I can't be late. We're having one of our staff meetings at work. Oh hi Lucas how are you mi amor." Penelope took Lucas from Elena's arms and carried him, smiling softly at how he was smiling at her.

"Aren't there only four of you?" Elena furrowed.

"And yet we take attendance. But I've actually got some good stuff to talk about today, so hopefully I can get through it without being interrupted by Scott, the freakin' bobo." Penelope said, as she placed Lucas on the couch and went back to packing her things.

"You know, I know Bobo is a an insult but it sounds adorable, like he's a little clown." Elena smiled.

"oh yes, he is a clown. And like every other clown I want to punch in the face." Penelope joked. Olivia decided to finish her homework from last night since she didn't had the time to do it because of Lucas' constant crying.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Alex placed his chin on her shoulder and looked over at what she was doing.

"Homework. Lucas had been crying the whole night and I couldn't sleep or do my homework in peace. But it's fine I only have two more questions and I'm done." Olivia smirked and went back to her homework.

"Oh, I have a lot going on today too. They're implementing my composting initiative in the cafeteria." Elena said excitedly.

"I wish I can make you this excited about a comb." Lydia blankly. Olivia laughed at that.

"Our school's waste steam will really shrink if we let the food discompose naturally. And once I'm able to introduce worms, triple the excretions." Elena added.

"You have weird goals." Alex said and Olivia nodded along.

"Hey! No she doesn't... yes she does right!" Penelope laughed quietly and Lydia smacked her arm.
"Okay, come on guys let's go. But first.." Penelope went over to lucas and carried him. "hello mi amor. You're so cute! Who's cute? Yeah it's you-"

"Mom." Alex raised his brows. Penelope apologised and went out the door but Alex went over to lucas as well.

"Who's a little cute baby? Aww." Alex cooed, kissing lucas cheek causing Olivia to glare at him but did the same thing and kissed Lucas cheek before waving to Lydia and walking out of the apartment.

The three kids and Penelope walked in the Alvarez apartment to see Lydia and Schneider dancing. Olivia and Alex looked at each other in confusion.

"Ugh, I get it. We're Cuban!" Elena groaned and turned to Penelope. "Can you believe this living stereotype? And look at poor baby Lucas having to witness two grown people dancing." Elena joked.

"I know. It's..uh oh, what's happening?" Penelope started dancing causing Elena to groan once again and walk away.

Alex and Olivia decided to join in as he twirled her around causing her to fall but luckily Alex caught her, his two arms wrapped around her waist making them laugh super hard. Everyone then started joining in and Lydia carried Lucas and danced with him as Olivia laughed at them.

"Okay there goes my shoulder. Whatever I needed that. I had a crazy annoying day." Penelope gripped her shoulder walking over to sit at the edge of the couch.

"It couldn't have been as bad as mine. At lunch, no one scraped their food into the new composting bins. Even when I stood in front of the trash cans." Elena complained.

"Zach Miller hit her with a hamburger." Olivia told and the others gasped in shock.

"No! He threw it in the wrong bin and I deflected it...with my face." Elena defended herself. "No one was listening to me!"

"So she started screaming and calling everyone, earth murderers!" Alex mocked.

"Look Elena, I get it, cause' it's in me, too. In five seconds, I go from nodding to lighting a car on fire." Penelope chuckled.

"You lit a car on fire?" Alex and Olivia said in unison.

"That happened only once, okay? And it was kind of an accident." Penelope defended.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Olivia whispered to Alex and he nodded made her way to the bathroom.

Olivia got out of the bathroom, suddenly getting a notification on her phone. It was Bianca's twin brother, Henry. The two had been friends ever since Olivia became friends with Bianca and the other girls. They've been really close but not as much with Alex.

Olivia texted him back and placed her phone in her pocket so that Alex wouldn't see since he would suspicious of her but obviously he saw.

"Who were you texting?" Alex frowned.

"No one, just Charlotte." Alex nodded, believing her lie. Olivia knew he hated Henry but she never really knew why. She would always try to convince him to tell her but he would ignore her or change the topic and at that point she just gave up asking him anymore and just decided to let it be.
