*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I groaned as my alarm blared in my ear. I tossed my arm behind me in search of the stupid plastic device making the terrible sound, only to find that it was all the way across the room. I groaned again as I lifted myself off the couch and felt just how badly a back could feel after sleeping on a couch for months.

I sighed and stretched, twisting my back until I heard the oh-so-satisfying pop I was working for, "Stefan? Bist du wach? (Stefan? Are you awake?)" The frail voice of my Oma came from the back of our most recently bought cottage.

"Ja, Oma! Ich bin wach. (Yes, grandma! I'm awake.)" I replied as I swiftly maneuvered myself through the stacks of boxes filling what was meant to be a living room. Six months, it has been precisely six months, three weeks, two days, and five hours since we moved here. We, being me and my Oma of course. This is the eighth place we've moved to since we fled our original pack lands twelve years ago and I'm hoping it's the last.

"So früh?? (This early??)" she questioned, unbelief lacing each word. I chuckled as I entered her room, it was the only room in the house completely set up and that's because I refuse to allow my Oma to sleep in a crowded space, she hates crowded spaces. I chuckled as her brows scrunched together, forcing the rest of her wrinkly face to scrunch down in the same manner; my Oma is about fifty-eight which in werewolf years is not that old. Other werewolves her age would still be running, jumping, and shifting but because of an untreated wolfsbane wound, she's became unable to walk and has slowly deteriorated over time to the point of losing all her sight in both eyes.

But despite dealing with the pain of an ongoing wolfsbane injury she's done her very best with raising me and she was the most joyful and lively person up until last year when her ability to walk weakened more and she had to start using a cane, now she's a little less lively but still just as joyful.

"Nun, ich muss mich für die Schule fertig machen und dir helfen, dich auf das Frühstück vorzubereiten (Well, I need to get ready for school and help you get ready for breakfast.)" I walked up to her large queen sized bed, pulling down her comforter as she scoffed at my reply.

"Hilf mir? Junge, ich kann auf mich selbst aufpassen! (Help me? Boy I can take care of myself!)" She looked unimpressed as I struggled to lift her up in the bed, taking a few seconds longer than I should have before bringing her bedside table across the bed.

"Was möchtest du zum Frühstück? (What do you want for breakfast?)" I questioned as I handed her her glasses from off the nightstand, she took the glasses with a small smile and placed them on her face until they were slightly hanging off the edge of her nose bridge in a true Oma fashion.

"Eier. (Eggs.)" I shook my head as I reached over her covered legs and tucked the large comforter securely underneath either side of her bed "Und? (And?)" I questioned, trying to push her to ask for more.

"Und was? Ich sagte, ich wollte Eier. (And what? I said I wanted eggs.)" I sighed as I leaned both palms of my hands against the quilt I had just finished placing over her comforter "Oma, du musst mehr als nur Eier essen (Grandma, you need to eat more than just eggs)" She rolled her eyes as she began to grumble under her breath and I sighed, already feeling the beginning of an unnecessary argument.

Just as I was about to reply I heard a ring at the door, Oma gave me a smug look as I let out another sigh and left to check who it was. "Savannah?" I questioned as I opened the door, revealing a brown-haired, emerald-eyed she-wolf. Savannah's my Omas' caregiver and has been the only person tasked with taking care of my Oma while I attend school. She's thirty-seven and has had a mate for eighteen years now, they both have a seventeen-year-old son who's, unfortunately, the only friend I have, and three daughters, one twelve, one eight, and one who's two.

We've known Savannah for eight years now; at first she was just her doctor, but as Omas' health began to worsen she thankfully agreed to become her caregiver, it helped that we followed her wherever she moved, though not for the reasons we've told her. "Decided to get here bright and early to see you off for your second first day of Junior year!" I gave her a pointed look as I stepped aside so she could come in.

"Haha, very funny Sav." Despite Savannah being twenty years older than me we are very close, she's the older sister I never had or wanted and I'm the younger brother she loves to pick on. "You know it's not my fault I have to retake my Junior year of high school." Six months ago we moved from the city to this woodsy town towards the end of my Junior year, which completely fucked up any chances I had at passing and moving to the next grade level.

"I know." she gave me a small somber smile and ruffled my already messed-up hair "Anyway, where's grandma?" I shoved a thumb back toward the arched opening leading out of the packed living room (and my makeshift bedroom) and into my Omas' room. She chuckled as she walked past me and towards the room "Hurry up and get ready kid."

I rolled my eyes as I watched her disappear into the room before heading toward the restroom. I quickly did my business on the toilet before taking my time in the shower, loving how the warm droplets of water felt against my usually cold skin. After I got out of the shower I dried myself off before drying my short light brown hair with a separate towel; I threw on a navy blue colored sweatshirt with a white collar and some regular khaki pants before throwing on a pair of white shoes. It wasn't the best outfit or the most expensive but it's all I got and I'm just grateful I at least have something because there was a time when I didn't have anything.

"Okay Sav! I'm heading out!" I shouted as I made my way to the front door of the small cottage, grabbing my backpack along the way. "You don't want to wait for Ricky to give you a ride?" she questioned as she walked back from around the arch "No I'm good, Leons been itching for a run anyway." I replied as I opened the door causing her to let out a quiet snort.

"Oh and Oma said she wants eggs for breakfast"

"Just eggs?"

"I said the same thing." we both chuckled and I turned back to walk out but stopped not long after to turn back "Hey can you do me a favor and-"

"Add a little extra to go with the eggs? I'm already on it," she replied, cutting me off with a knowing smile causing me to give one of my own back. "Thanks, Sav." I said pulling her into a hug "No problem kid."

"Alright, bye. Tschüss Oma, schönen Tag noch. Ich komme nach der Schule zurück (Goodbye Grandma, have a nice day. I'll come back after school)"

"Tschüss Schatz, ich liebe dich! (Bye honey, I love you!)"

"Hab dich auch lieb (love you too)"

As I made my way outside I began to strip my clothes off, wondering why I even put them on in the first place as I set them neatly into my backpack. Once I was completely undressed I gave full control over to my wolf, Leon who immediately shifted into our wolf form. He grabbed a strap of my school bag between his teeth before taking off into the woods that surrounded our small cottage.

It took only a few minutes to reach the school and once there I made sure to shift back in the woods and out of sight of other people. I quickly put my clothes back on and walked towards the school, taking in the large white-bricked building decorated with different shades of thick blue lines.

I walked into the building and went straight to the gym, using the multiple maps littering the walls to get there. Apparently this school has some type of orientation thing at the beginning of every year that is less like orientation and more like club advertisements, it takes place in the gym, so that's where I'm heading. In the gym were multiple different tents advertising a variety of different clubs, sports, and extracurricular study groups as well as lots and lots of people.

I was aimlessly looking around in all sorts of directions when I felt a tap on my shoulder accompanied by the pleasant sensation of warm sparks that spread their way from my shoulder, down my arm, and through my entire body. When I turned around I was faced with a tall, dark man with long dreads and sparkly crystal-blue eyes. He was beautiful, and based on how my wolf was reacting to his scent he was definitely my mate.

"He-hello..." I greeted, mentally slapping myself for stuttering. He said nothing as he took a deep breath before letting out a frustrated groan.

"What's your name, mate?" he questioned, his voice gruff and his handsome face blank of any emotions. I had to admit the lack of surprise or reaction was a bit upsetting but the way it sounded when he called me mate instantly helped me to forget the weird occurrence.

I shuddered as his eyes darkened into a glare at my lack of response "Stefan Meyer." I said with a blush after finally getting my voice back. His eyes seemed conflicted as he just stared down at me with a clenched jaw.

"I, Adebiyi Ibrahim, alpha of seënige pack, reject-" my eyes widened as every word he said came out in slow motion but just when he was going to finish the rejection a loud smack was heard. My mate stood still before turning to face a shorter but still pretty tall and also dark-skinned she-wolf, she had a mean glare on her and though part of me wanted to rip her apart for touching our mate another part of me, the louder part, just kept repeating his words over and over again.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I glanced back up to see the two wolves now staring each other down and it didn't look like either one of them would be backing down.

A/N: I have a feeling this book might be deleted off the app I currently have it on so I'm moving it onto here too lmao.
