Chap. 11

"He took you to dinner?" Sarah asked while we stood in the line at Starbucks.

"Yeah, it was this fancy place with shrimp and everything."

"Shrimp? He must really like you!"

"You think so?"

"Girl, if there's shrimp, trust me. He likes you."

I smiled.

"Next?" The lady at Starbucks said.

"I'll have a chai latte," my friend said, "My name's Sarah."

"And I'll have a green tea cream please. My name's Marley."

She took our orders and we paid for our drinks. Sarah and I sat down.

"So, what's going on with you and Will?" I said with a smirk.

"I wish there was something going on." She sighed, "But I'm too shy to talk to him and he never talks to me. I don't think he likes me."

"Dude, he said so when we were playing truth or dare."

"I don't know. Something's off."

"You're crazy. I'll get Cole to talk to him if you want."

"No! He'll think I'm a crazy stalker or something."

"Anonymously, moron. Like I just asked you, something casual."

"Oh, then, yeah."

I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Marley? Green tea cream?"

I stood up and grabbed my drink, "Thanks."

Soon afterwards, Sarah grabbed her drink and we left.

"I'm almost done." I said talking to my screen.

"Why do girls take so long to get ready?" Cole asked as we talked.

"To impress boys, you moron."

"I don't want you impressing boys." He said.

"In other words, for you, stupid." I said while laughing and applying my eye-liner.

"I don't think I'm cool with you calling me 'stupid' and 'moron'." He said as he chuckled.

"You're my moron."

He laughed even harder, "That I'm okay with."

"Done." I said, "I'll see you in the lobby."

I ended our FaceTime.

I decided on a colorful dress and a blue sweater. I put on my white converse and grabbed my bag.

As I walked to the lobby, I saw Amanda and Dana walking, hand in hand.

I felt nothing.

I kept walking but Amanda bumped into me, pushed me against the wall and made me fall.

"Amanda, be careful." Dana said as he ran to me, "Are you okay?" He asked while helping me stand up.

"It was an accident, babe." She said.

"I'm fine." I said while giving Amanda the death stare.Babe? How long have they dated? Two days?

Gross.

I loosed Dana's grip and ran away.

I finally made it to the lobby and ran to Cole. We entwined our hands and headed out.
