Chapter 29

"Morning everyone!" I said with a bright smile as I entered the kitchen, Jase and Ashley smiled brightly at me as they gave me a slight wave "What's for breakfast?"

"Waffles or pancakes?" Ashley said and I shrugged "Waffles it is!" she giggled

"Where's Chase?" I asked as I glanced around and saw he was nowhere to be found

"Outside, taking a jog, I think." Jase answered as he rummaged through the cupboards, looking for a mug and handing Ashley a mixing bowl for the pancake mixture "How'd you girls sleep?" he asked

"I slept like a baby." Ashley mused with a sigh "You?" she said, turning to me

"You kept smacking me in the face." I grumbled as I poured myslef a glass of orange juice "So, I guess that answers your question." I muttered and Jase sniggered as Ashley ducked her head in embarassment as she blushed. I heard the sound of a door opening, so we all turned in direction of the backyard door and saw Chase coming in, he was covered in sweat and the t-shirt he was wearing stuck to his body, revealing his six pack. Oh, god.

I gulped nervously before speaking "H-Hey, Chase." I stuttered, he smiled slightly and waved before shaking his hair

"I'm going to take a bath, you better not eat all the food!" he said before walking over to the room and shutting the door behind him

"You have, uh..." Jase said with a smirk on his face "a little something." he said, pointing towards the corner of my mouth before cracking a laugh and high-fiving Ashley.

"Where's everyone?" Chase said as he came into the kitchen

"Out, to get some groceries." I answered as I slid over a plate of waffles over to him, he thanked me quietly before he began eating

"So..." he said, after a couple of bites "are you excited to be going back tomorrow?" I glanced at him and shrugged

"I kind of want to go back, but not really at the same time." I answered nonchalantly "I guess I just missed it here, though."

"It gets kind of lonely here, without you guys." he said with a sigh "Don't you miss high school sometimes?"

"At times, I do." I answered "I miss how simple things were." I added and he nodded "How easy everything seemed." I said with a shrug

"Yeah." he said "Even love seemd more simple back then." I blinked twice before looking at him and then returning my gaze to my food

"Yeah, it did."

"We're back!" Ashley's voice rang through the house "We need help guys!" she said as she struggled with the bags in her hands, with Jase trailing behind her, also struggling with the bags

"What? Did you guys buy the whole store?" I said with a laugh as I headed in direction of the entrance so we could help them with the groceries

"Well, we need snacks for tomorrow, so we just thought we'd buy a whole lot." Jase said with a shrug "I've been texting Zoe." he said as he directed his gaze to me, I gaped

"What? Why didn't you tell me?!" I said with a laugh as Ashley and Chase looked at us, confused

"Who's Zoe?" Ashley asked

"She's Daniel's sister." I answered "And Jase has a crush on her!" I cooed as I ruffled his hair "He has ever since he met her, she's really nice and they look so cute together!"

"Have you asked her out yet, man?" Chase said as he patted his best friends back with a slight smirk on his face

"As a matter of fact, I have." he answered and I squealed "We're gonna go out when we get back."
