Chapter 5

“Ava, Ava!” Ashley said as she squealed “Get his greasy hands off me, please!” She pleaded as she squirmed under Jason’s arms, he had greasy hands and was trying to wipe them off on Ashley’s face. We were currently at a local pizzeria I forgot the name of, most of the team had gone home because they said they were tired, so it was just Ashely, Jason, Chase and I. “Oh My God Jason! I will slap you in the face so hard your little pea brain will fall out of your ear if you don’t stop!” She exclaimed, I laughed loudly as Chase scooted in beside me

“Oh no, Ashley’s fuming.” he winced “What’d you do now, Jase?” 

“There are no napkins because the service here is crap!” he exclaimed and a couple of the workers turned to glance at him but ignored his protests “And I have nowhere to wipe my hands!” he pouted, I giggled

“And Ashely’s face is the best place to do that?” Chase chuckled, Jase shrugged

“I want to see the vein.” he shrugged as he continued to bother Ashley

“The vein?” I asked, turning my attention to Chase, he only chuckled as he draped his arm on the armrest that was on top of my head

“There’s a vein in Ashely’s head that throbs when she’s pissed.” he whispered and snuck a glance at Ashely who was red all over her face “There, just above her eyebrow.” he whispered as he pointed, I squinted slightly as I looked and laughed, there definitely was a vein!

“There it is!” Jason said happily, he kissed Ashely cheek, which she grumbled as she wiped it off with a scowl “You know I love you, Ash!” he said as he scurried off into the bathroom to wash his hands 

“That boy better learn how to sleep with one eye open because one day I will cut his balls off in his sleep.” she muttered, both Chase and I laughed

“Waiter, check please!” Chase said as a worker passed, he nodded and went off to do our bill

“It’s my turn now.” Ashley said as she reached for her wallet

“No, you did it last time.” he said and she nodded in response

“Oh yeah, Jason did it before me.” she pouted “Your turn then sweet cheeks.” she said as the waited came back with our bill and handed it to Chase, he thanked him and reached for his wallet, I stopped him and grabbed my wallet

“I’ll pay.” I said, but he waved me off 

“Don’t be ridiculous, I’ll pay,” he said as he put the bills on the tab

“At least let me pay for my stuff.” I argued and he looked at me seriously 

“It’s no problem, Ava.” he reassured me “We’ve had to pay for the entire team at times, don’t worry about it.” he said “You’re one of us now.” his statement warmed my heart. Just after Chase handed the guy the bill, Jason came out of the bathroom grinning.

“I hope you pissed your pants.” Ashely muttered, Jason chuckled as he made his way towards Ashely and tried to kiss her face, she slapped his face away, but he insisted. I shook my head and Chase chuckled.

“Alright lovebirds, see you later!” he waved as we both made our way towards the entrance

“Byeee!” Ashley called out, I waved back and walked over to the sidewalk, waiting for a cab to pass by.

“What are you doing?” Chase said as he chuckled 

“Waiting for a cab.” I shrugged, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards his car

“I’ll drive you.” he said, I shook my head and he laughed “Yes, and no complaining.” he said as he opened the passenger seat door for me, I groaned and gave in.
