NCR 42: Beauty Inside Out

"Matagal pa ba? Gutom na 'ko."

"Lagi ka namang gutom! Tumigil ka nga d'yan muna!"

"Hindi na talaga ako mapakali! Gutom na nga ako tapos parang mahihimatay pa ako sa lamig!"

"Hindi ba't ikaw ang nag suggest ng ganitong party theme? Manigas ka!"

"Para kasi kakaiba! Ngayon na-realize ko na kung bakit wala pang nakakaisip nito noon! Nakakapang sisi talaga!"

"Hayaan mo na! Look at them. They look happy... Pambawi na lang natin 'yan sa lahat ng kadramahang idinulot natin sa buhay nila!"

"Dreamia's right, Acer. Everyone's having fun. 'Tsaka malapit na kumain. Isa pang game and two more intermission numbers."

"Oo na! Alam ko naman 'yon... Pero bakit ba sobrang daming air cooler? May aircon na nga e."

"The sergeants suggested it. Shut up now."

Hindi ko magawang makisali sa usapan ng tatlo dahil nanlalamig din ako. Malamig naman talaga. But there's something that's making my body colder. Pakiramdam ko rin ay nadudumi ako sa kaba.

It's our Campus Christmas Party right now. We have chosen the Winter Wonderland party theme that was suggested by Acer. We have realized that the school never had a theme like this before. So, we grabbed the opportunity to bring something different for the students. When we asked for the other organizations' opinions, the majority of them agreed so we pushed this idea. 'Tsaka perfect din since it's Christmas Party at malapit na ang Christmas. Para ma-feel namin lalo ang darating na okasyon.

Since it is winter-ish, we set up the venue with colder temperature, winter decorations, and artificial snow. Dito namin napili sa loob ng gymnasium ng school para closed area. Sobrang liwanag din sa loob because of the light-colored decorations. May mga decorations din for Christmas-like atmosphere such as snowman, reindeers, Santa Claus, life-size snowballs, and more stuff. Ang mga tugtog ay puro pang-Christmas din para naman walang umangal. Pero may segment mamaya na pwedeng mag request ang mga estudyante ng mga gusto nilang ipa-tugtog so it's fair lang din naman. Pero mamaya iyon kapag tapos ng kainan at ilan pang intermission number and games na hindi pa nalalaro.

May pa-raffle din pero iilan lang din dahil medyo na-short ang budget. Everyone's going to receive equally distributed gifts. Hindi na kasi namin na-encourage pang magpa-exchange gift dahil kapos din sa time. Para wala rin masyadong reklamo sa mga makukuha nilang gifts. And per class naman ay may exchange gift giving so I think that's enough na naman.

Hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti nang pagmasdan ko ang mga estudyanteng nakapwesto sa pinaka ground ng gym malapit sa stage pati na rin ang mga nakapwesto sa mas mababang bleachers. Kahit gaano ka-ikli ang time na ibinigay namin sa kanila ay nagawa nilang mag damit nang naayon sa theme. Halos lahat ay sumunod sa dress code. Sweater or shirt dress ang for girls. Depende na sa kanila kung ano ang footwear nila. Sa boys naman ay jeans, shirt or polo, then hoodie or any type of jacket. Bahala na rin sila footwear nila as long as comfortable sila. Ang mahalaga lang talaga ay ang kulay. We advised na as much as possible, light blue, white, black, and cream ang mga kulay ng susuutin nila. To make it livelier, we assure na lahat ay may tig-iisang santa hat na maraming color variations: red, green, yellow, pink, grey, black, and white. Bahala na sila mamili. Pero karamihan ay mas pinili talaga ang bagay sa mga outfit nila.

Sa loob ng isang linggo ay ibinigay namin ang lahat ng makakaya namin to make this Christmas Party for them memorable. Pambawi na rin siguro sa mga inconveniences namin for the past five months. Together with the sergeants, we were able to set this venue up successfully. And seeing the smiles on their faces and hearing them laugh throughout the party makes me believe that as long as we continue working hard, we can immediately fill what we lacked in the past and be better student leaders.
