Foundation of a Scandal

"How the hell are we going to change King Henry's mind in just three days?" I hissed. Alastor and I had met in a quiet corner of one of the less used gardens. No one knew where we were. At the current moment, however, I was resisting the urge to scream at the top of my lungs in frustration.

Alastor was as calm and in control as ever. Watching me pace back and forth like a caged beast, he replied, "There are many ways, my dear. But in your world and judging from his majesty's past, the quickest way is by scandal."

I stopped dead in my tracks. It could work. King Henry was a hypocrite when it came to scandals. He wanted his wives to be pristine, but he was written in the history books as one of the biggest scandals in Christendom.

"And what exactly do you propose we do to create a scandal?" I asked, turning to face him. Alastor stood before me, radiating everything the King wasn't. His Cheshire grin widened across his face as he placed one finger on my chin, tilting my head up so I could look him in the eye.

"We've already laid the foundation," He answered, then bent his head and pressed his lips to mine.
