chapter 31: 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐝

Narrator's P. O. V.

   ↳𝐓𝐇𝐄 chair creaked on the floor right before it fell on the navy blue tiles. It seemed that in the process one of the tiles broke when the chair fell, making the echoing sound in the room.

Silence was too loud.

Umeji's honey colored eyes sent daggers through M/n soul. Her shocked eyes couldn't bare to look at Umeji any longer.

"Come again?" -Umeji asked, his tone was serious. Blonde delinquent just stood beside Y/n's bed, one hand holding hers and the other one already ready to fight.

"You don't understand!" -woman screamed and in regret covered her mouth instantly
"You are right. I don't." -Umeji's cold gaze never left her figure as he slowly walked up to M/n, leaving Y/n's hand behind

"Stay away! Just stay away!" -she yelled again, she was so scared.

"We are in the hospital. Learn some manners." - Umeji said just before he stopped in the middle of the room, only few meters between the two of them

M/n's shaky hands grabbed something inside her expensive furry coat. In her gloved hand was resting a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. She quickly put one cigarette in her mouth and lighten it up. She inhaled and then exhaled the smoke as her body relaxed against the wall.
Her eyes were already teary as she stared at the ceiling.

"You are disgusting." -Umeji hissed through gritted teeth

M/n's eyes never left the ceiling. She was either too scared to look back at Umeji or too scared to admit that he was right. Maybe both. Both frightened her to death.

"Every time I look at her. I can only see him." - Woman quietly spoke as the smoke flew with the rhythm of her breathing, escaping her nostrils and mouth.
"That's not a fucking excuse." - Umeji said pissed, clenching his fist

His sentence, like it offended Y/n's mom in some type of way. She was now facing Umeji with an angry expression. She threw cigarette on the ground and stepped on it on her way to Umeji.

She entered his personal space and with her finger pointed out at him.

"You have no idea what I've been through! I did everything for him and when he found out I was pregnant with..her! He left me like I was nothing!" -the way she expressed herself when she talked about Y/n made Umeji's eye twitch

"You are crazy aren't you?" - Umeji asked, but it was more like a statement as he stared down at her. His eyes were slightly widened, but dark colored made it look like his eyes were made of a void that would suck your soul

Woman, shocked couldn't say a word, she felt like she was about to die, or worse get exposed.

Suddenly, Umeji grabbed her arm and twisted it, earning a painful scream from the woman. He put her arm on the back and kicked her down on the ground. She yelped as her head made contact with tiles. Umeji put his knee on her back and pressing it just enough to hurt her.

"I'm not stupid. I see it in your eyes you are crazy. That's why you are away for so long, because you know you couldn't stop yourself from hurting her." -Umeji whispered in disgust, his eyebrows narrowed

"T-that's not true! It's not! She's..my daughter after all!" -she yelled, desperately trying to convince Umeji
"Doesn't fucking matter. You said it yourself. You don't love her." -Umeji repeated her words

She gasped as she realized Umeji's not letting her go, hot tears started running down her face and falling down on the floor, tear by tear.

"Drop the act! It's over!" - Umeji screamed at the woman, he was beyond furious
