Scene One – During Daniel LaRusso montage:

I feel my dad knock on my door as I suddenly feel myself begin to wake up. I yawn and stretch out my body, slowly opening up my eyes.

"Rise and shine, sleepy-head!" He exclaims. "I'm making your favorite for breakfast! Waffles and breakfast sausage!" I sit up and stretch a bit.

"And a cup of coffee?" I yell loud enough for him to hear. I hear him chuckle and let out a small sigh.

"And a small cup of coffee." My dad gives in.

"I'll be out in a minute!" I shout and pull myself out of the bed. I roll out my shoulders and head over to the neatly folded pile of clothes I picked out the day before. A black skirt covered in white flowers with a black long-sleeved V-neck shirt. Along with that, a pair of black flats and the necklace my dad and mom got me for my 14th birthday that I had been wearing everyday for over a year. I quickly throw the outfit on and put my dirty pajamas into the laundry hamper that sits in my closet.

I slowly open up my door and step into the hallway, heading over to the kitchen. Anthony, my younger brother, is sitting at the table with his video games. Sam, my older sister, isn't even at the table yet. My dad is making waffles, and my mom is making coffee. I walk over to my brother and ruffle up his hair.

"Put those video games away and spend time with us." I say as he swats my hand off of his head and he rolls his eyes. "I'm being serious, time together is precious, plus you're going to be eating sticky waffles soon!"

"You're sounding more like mom then mom." Anthony grumbles. My mom rolls her eyes.

"Your sister is right though, Anthony." My mom raises an eyebrow as I sit down. My dad pulls a waffle off of the waffle maker and places it onto a plate for me. Then he slides over to the frying pan and scoops up three pieces of breakfast sausage. He puts them on the plate and places it in front of me. I grab the butter and syrup and lather my waffle in it. My mom places a small coffee behind my plate. "Enjoy."

"Thank you." I smile and instantly begin digging in. As I finish up my sausage, Sam enters the kitchen and plops down into a chair. "Morning!" I smile at Sam and she smiles back at me. She doesn't say anything though. She's just silent. I finish up my breakfast quickly and get up. As I walk past my mom and dad, I kiss them both on the cheek. Then I run over to my room and grab my backpack.

I've always tried to be the positive person in the family. I'm close to my mom and dad, but sometimes they forget about me and my interests. My siblings are a bit harder to bond with. They're so secluded and seem to want nothing to do with me. Not to mention, I feel like my mom and dad focus more on them. Whether it's them buying Anthony whatever he wants or them always trying to be involved in what Sam's doing.

With a sigh, brushing the thoughts out of my head, I leave my bedroom and start making my way to the front door. By the time I get there, my dad's already waiting at the door. Sam and Anthony are lagging behind. My mom's already out the door, heading to the car dealership.

"Kids! Hurry up! You don't want to be late!" My dad hollers out. Then he suddenly places a hand onto my shoulder, rubbing it, comforting me. He's a good dad, I just wish I could share how I feel. I want to explain this burden on my shoulders. I just feel like I can't tell him how I feel. How I think I'm lesser. "You okay?" My dad snaps me back into reality. I look up at him, a shocked expression on my face. I quickly start nodding in a panic. I don't want my dad to worry about me or think anything is wrong. He doesn't need that stress, especially when he's still trying to understand what's up with Sam and to get Anthony off those electronics and acting appropriately.
