Ember Keene Episode Six - This takes place season 1, episode 8

☆ Scene One - Heading to the LaRusso's: ☆

"I can't believe I actually got to fight someone!" I couldn't help but beam about the night prior with Trey and Cruz. I shouldn't be proud of getting into a fight, but I'm just so happy that I was able to do something - even if I did get a big bruise on my back from being slammed into a wall. I say it was worth it.

"Yeah, well just keep taking care of yourself." Robby says, trying to make sure I'm okay. "Did you take all of your meds? Today maybe a bit strenuous so you have to be on top of everything." I nod, reassuring him. He lets out a nervous sigh.

"I promise, Robby, I'll be okay." I smile at him which gets him to smile back. 

"I know." He tells me as the two of us head into the LaRusso's backyard. Sitting by the pool is a teenage girl, sunbathing. Robby and I both freeze. I think he's more so memorized while I'm slightly fearful. Before anyone can say anything, Robby grabs me lightly by the shoulder to go, turns around, and runs into a bamboo wind chime. I smack his arm quickly and the two of us start squabbling before the girl turns and notices us. 

"Oh, hey!" She smiles as us, getting up from her seat. 

"Hi!" Robby says nervously, "We were looking for Mr. LaRusso."

"We're training with him today!" I throw in there with a bright smile. "We've been working together in the dojo."

"Then I should thank you two." The girl grins, "He tried roping me into it." 

"So you must be the daughter he talks about all of the time." Robby chuckles. 

"I would hope so!" She responds. "I'm Samantha!"

"Robby." 

"And I'm Ember!" I say, giving her a little, polite wave. Right in doing so, Mr. LaRusso appears with bags and a cooler in his hands. 

"Oh, look at this!" He says, turning in our direction and walking towards the three of us. "My current students and my former student... Y'know, if you want to join us, Sam, there's still time."

"I'm actually going to the mall with Mom and Grandma." She says politely.

"Oh, that's good. Just text me if there's any bloodshed." Mr. LaRusso sighs. "Robby, give me a hand with this. We're going to take the SUV." Robby nods as Mr. LaRusso looks at me, "I got you the candy I always see you eating out of the mini fridge at work, Ember." I grow flustered, looking around and stuttering a bit. I always feel guilty for taking food and snacks at work even though they say it's okay. "Hey! It's my treat. I know you like them!" Mrs. LaRusso probably told him I needed to eat more. "Bye-bye, sweetheart." Mr. LaRusso says to Samantha.

"Bye, Dad! Have fun." She says looking between the three of us. Robby is in complete and utter awe by her. 

"It was nice meeting you." He says with a dorky grin on his face. 

"You too... And good luck you two with the tree." She says to us, a bit of mischief on her face. She looks at me, smiles, and winks.

☆ Scene Two - In the woods: ☆

"When I was a kid, Mr. Miyagi took me to this beautiful lake up north to train. I tried to take Samantha there once, but after the drought, it's become more of a puddle. So, I found this spot instead." Mr. LaRusso smiles as he leads the two of us through the woods. The leaves are a light yellow as they get ready to change through the seasons. The air is fresher than I've ever experienced and the sun on my skin feels rejuvenating. The big body of water next to us feels freeing and utterly magical. "You hear that?" He pauses, his feet crunching the leaves every step he takes. "I want you both to close your eyes and just listen." He smiles, stopping and looking towards us. Robby and I glance at each other, then closing our eyes shut.
