2. night beach trip

SOMEONE WANNA TELL ME WHY I FREAK MYSELF OUT WITH MY OWN STORY- how does that even work.

Gina's pov

"Nini!", I shout, "Come on! They're about to start the ceremony on live TV!"

She groans, "But I wanna dance!"

"Neens come on!", I shout again, going up and yanking on her wrist.

I'm pretty sure she had a drink or two-

I drag her over to the large grassy area where a giant screen has been blown up and a projector was projecting the news channel on it. The entire town was gathered around the big screen, keeping their eyes glued on the live television.

"May I now present to you...your new mayor! Mayor Levine!", the lady speaks as a roar of claps erupt.

Everyone gathered here begins to clap as we watch the lady move off the screen and the new mayor come into view.

"Hello! Thank you, thank you. I'm honored to be your new Mayor. I would like to just say thank you...and I'm going to do my best!", he speaks, chuckling, before walking off the screen.

Everyone claps again before people begin to file out. I take Nini by her wrist since she was definitely a little loopy as I search around for EJ and Ricky.

"Gi!", I hear someone call.

I turn my head and see them walking towards us. I smile at them as they stop in front of us.

"Is she-"

I nod, "A little drunk? Yeah...uh- can we go now?"

The two boys nod and then we begin heading towards the parking lot. I help Nini get situated in her seat before getting in on the other side.

As we began driving, Nini had fallen asleep, and the car was silent.

"Ricky?", I say.

He hums, turning his head towards me.

"Are you ever gonna talk to...her?", I ask.

He shrugs, "She clearly doesn't want to be around me...so I assume she wouldn't like to talk either?"

I scoff, "You guys are gonna have to leave it in the past..."

"Yeah, I mean...it happened in middle school.", EJ adds on.

Ricky sighs, "I've left it in my past. She has not."

EJ's pov

I drop Ricky off at his house before heading to Nini's. I wait in the driveway while Gina gets Nini settled upstairs in her bedroom. After a few moments, the car door opens, and she gets inside.

"Hey", I smile, leaning in a kissing her lips.

She chuckles, "Hey there"

"Ready to go?", I ask.

She nods her head and I begin driving towards my house.

Once we arrive, we get out and walk through the front door, hand in hand. We're greeted by my parents when we walk into the kitchen.

"Hey! Did you two have fun at the party?", my mom asks.

We both nod our heads.

"We're gonna go watch a movie and head to bed now.", I mention.

My mom smiles at me while Gina and I head into my bedroom. She slips her hand out of mine, running over and jumping onto my bed, sighing in relaxation. I chuckle at her and go lay down next to her. She cuddles up close to me and lets out a giant breath.
