"Ricky...she could die in a couple days."

Ricky's pov

My heart stops.

My mind goes blank.

I stare at Paige.

"S-she what?", I say in disbelief.

"Ricky- there's only one thing that can cure it.", Paige speaks, "But there's a problem-"

"What's the cure? We need it!", I exclaim, cutting her off.

"It's a plant called Hydnora.", she explains, "The nectar will cure it..."

"Okay? I don't see a problem...you know what it is.", I reply, feeling flustered now.

"Listen- the problem is the fact it's only found across the world...in Australia. And it's not like there's a whole field of it.", Paige slowly says.

I groan and run my hands through my hair. I try to calm my breathing, pulling my phone out. I go to press on Gina's contact but then decide against it since she was still at school with EJ.

"What do we do now?", I ask, sighing.

"I'm willing to make the trip for her...it should only take a couple days though. I'll go on...paw?", she explains, chuckling a bit.

"You're running there?!", I blurted.

"I'm a werewolf...it doesn't bother me.", she mentions, "I'll leave tonight."

I nod my head, sighing as the room goes quiet. We sit at the kitchen island, my thoughts going round and round in circles. There was one thought that continued to make its way through all the other thoughts though.

"I'm gonna kill this idiot.", I mutter, grumbling and standing up.

I walk to the door, the anger building up with every step. I reach my hand out, ready to grab the handle until her hand pulls mine away.

"Killing the mayor isn't an option here!", she exclaims, "They'll find who did it...you'll be sentenced to life in jail."

"So what", I mutter, "At least he's dead."

"Ricky-"

"He's hurting the one girl I love most! I can't just sit back and watch it happen like a movie!", I argue, raising my voice.

The blood was boiling all throughout my veins. If there were such a thing, smoke would be coming from my ears.

EJ's pov

It's the end of the day and I put my books away in my locker. I shut it and see Gina walking down the hallway towards me. Her head hung low and she hasn't been in the mood since lunch.

"Hey...", I sigh, swiftly putting my hand in hers.

"Hi", she quietly responds, keeping her head low.

We begin to follow the crowds out the exit doors and into the parking lot. Small groups of students were scattered around in the front. They were all probably making weekend plans since after all it is Friday.

"You okay?", I ask, keeping my sight forward.

"Not really. Do you think she's okay?", Gina responds. Her voice was full of worry.
