A Year In The Life: a new beginning

Peas these days, nobody knows what they're up to

A week had gone by and Rory's morning sickness had been getting worse. She was waking at earlier hours just to hurl. She swore she had octagon imprints on her knees

"This is unfair" Rory said

"Did you get those anti-nausea meds you called in for?" Lorelai questioned

"They're at the pharmacy, I have to pick them up today but how does one do that with the eyes of the hollow on me"

"Just say you have severe car sickness" Lorelai tied Rory's hair in a bun "lookin good kid, your face is practically in the bowl"

"Ah hot right?" Lorelai nodded "heard Kim Kardashian had this too"

"So I'm one step closer to becoming high profile" Rory mused and she laid her head on the side of the seat "this is a new low"

"I've seen you worse" Rory looked at her

"You have?" She nodded and Rory got herself off the ground "how can a pea cause so much chaos"

"Peas these days, nobody knows what they're up to but we just know they're conspiring" Rory looked at her mom like she was insane

"How can I be a mom when I can hardly stand on my own two feet" Rory said starting to tear up

"Hey, I was a mom at 16 reminder" she slouched down to the ground sitting next to her daughter "god this floor is uncomfortable your poor knees"

"But you were a good mom at 16, I'm a bad one at 32" Lorelai shook her head

"Nah, you're so off base. You can't consider yourself a bad mom till you've popped it out and they tell you themself, but you'll always fact check them just to make sure.."

"But uh hey.... don't sleep with or possibly marry any of their teachers" Rory giggled

"Oh and if you steal some of their clothes don't lie about it, they always know"

"So you do have my white blouse from Zara"

"Just saying in a few months it won't be fitting you, so why need it now" Lorelai pointed out and Rory frowned

"How's the daddy situation"

"Procrastinating" Rory replied

"You or him?" She looked at her mother

"Mom how can I do this" she started to freak out more "I mean how do you just lay it on someone, hey we slept together and oh by the way you're to be a daddy soon!"

"It takes two to tango Rory, he did this to himself also. He chose to have relations with you Rory" she leaned her head on her mothers shoulder and nodded

"But why is it so hard" she patted Rory's shoulder and stood "life's not supposed to be easy kid, coming from me I can give you many, many examples of how hard it can be" she kissed her daughters forehead

"I'm off to the inn, call if you need anything" Rory nodded and Lorelai grabbed her coat and bag leaving the house

Rory stood from her post at the bathroom and brushed her teeth

Lorelai walked into the annex to see Michelle and Tom "how's she looking Tom?"

"Good shape, it doesn't look like much needs to be done, some minor touch ups and the place is good to get started on other renovations" Lorelai smiled

"Oh that's great, Michelle isn't that great" he looked at her blankly

"Yes Lorelai that's great" he said and began to walk around and she followed
