A Year In The Life: a new beginning

Breakfast sounds good

Rory woke in the morning her head on his chest and his hand on her little bump. She stared at him while he slept so peacefully, not a worry of him having to rush off in the afternoon. No solemn goodbye to expect in future

"You staring is creepy" he said in a husky voice

"you need to shave your beard I don't like the stubble"she said and he laughed softly

"Really?" She placed a hand on his face and nodded

"Unless you want to keep it Mr.Spikey" He pulled her in closer to him and they intertwined hands

It was a feeling he'd missed, though she'd stay over in his apartment it was never permanent. He cherished the mornings they shared getting to wake up next to her. He'd slept alone for so many years, yes Odette would be there sometimes but it was nowhere near the same. One of them was always out on business and they didn't give each other the comfort or love.

But when he'd wake up those mornings to see Rory's soft brown hair his heart warmed. It was she who he loved, who he'd kill just to spend every morning just like this. Seeing her pretty little face, her bright blue eyes flashing at him once she woke and the smile that would slowly appear. It was everything he'd dreamed of so these mornings were most special

"So the 5th" he smiled excited for the upcoming date

"Girl or boy?" She questioned "I mean if you had to think, it's what my mind is racing about"

"There's no way you don't have a girl, it's just how Gilmore girls are built, you're meant to have girls"

"How we are built? I honestly think it's a boy"

"And what fronts that logic" he questioned

"You absolutely hate mangos and I didn't mind them before but now, now I also absolutely hate them" she gagged

"So because you hate mangos we are expecting a boy?"she nodded

"Oh I hate pineapple and coconut also"

"You never consumed it in general" Logan said confused "I know but I hate it more than before" she argued

"So you don't want to do a gender reveal?" He questioned

"Logan you know me, I cringe when other people do that. I hate baby showers so what would make me like a gender reveal"

"I find them weird also I just didn't know"

"Well now you do, hey I had to sit through my half sisters baby shower" and then it hit Rory

"Oh my god" she said scared and sat up more

"What, what's wrong?" She looked to him

"I never told my dad I was pregnant, I saw him but never told him cause I hadn't told mom or you" she began to freak out "do you know how hurt he'll be"

"Calm down" he sat up rubbing her shoulder "it's going to be okay, you can tell your father at anytime. I mean we haven't even told my parents"

"Yeah well... I just don't want to hear their opinions" she said honestly "I mean my dads opinion doesn't even matter"

"But you care about him" Logan said "you should give him a call and let him know at some point" she turned to him and looked at him as he laid beside her "we are still taking it slow" she warned

"But you wanted to take things fast last night if I recall" she rolled her eyes taking a pillow and smacking him with it

She exited the bed tying a robe around her and looked out the giant bay window to see the snowy mountains "how do you find these places?"
