A Year In The Life: a new beginning

It's a baby!

Friday came and Rory spent her morning making her way to starshollow. Her mind was lost in her thoughts as the music played in the background of the taxi. But a main thought was finally buying a car of her own

She had some money saved but most of it was going towards her apartment. She didn't know what was holding her back from moving in with Logan but she knew it was valid. It's not like they were strangers or hadn't seen each other in years, but things just kept happening so fast. This was the one thing she had some control of, though she didn't want to hurt his feelings.

The surroundings became more and more familiar and the taxi turned to the exit. She pulled out her phone "mom" she said

"You almost here?" She asked giddy

"I'm almost at the crap shack" she smiled

"Oh hon I'm at the inn"

"Then I'm almost at the inn" she said and directed the driver to the dragonfly

"Good Sookie made her rocky road cookies just for you because I told her you were coming!"

"Well I'll thank her in person" Rory said excited as the car turned up the Hill "okay I'm here" she said

"What- your actually here"and the car stopped

"Mhmm I'm exiting the car" and Lorelai came running out front out of breath

"Mom? I could've met you inside"

"Well the sun is just so pretty today I thought why not step outside"

"To the cold snow?" Rory questioned

"Well the snow is still puffy on the ground..... hey would you like to build a snow man?" Lorelai raised her eyebrows

"As much as I'd love to it's cold and I am in my 30s maybe when I have my own kid and she's older"

"I got too old for you huh?" Lorelai said dramatically

"Mom come on let's go inside it's cold"

"No!" Lorelai said and Rory looked confused

"The oven" she said

"The oven?" Rory asked confused

"It's got this terrible terrible smell, I think the cookies imploded or something?"

"What?" Rory said confused and Lorelai shrugged

"They imploded whole kitchen reeks"

"Like rocky road cookies?" Rory questioned

"Exactly"

"Mom come on let's just go inside" Lorelai shook her head "you are being silly, a little burnt cookie smell won't kill me" Lorelai shook her head profusely

"Okay what's going on?" Rory asked "what are you hiding from me?" Lorelai sighed

"Why did I have to have such a curious kid!" Lorelai groaned

"Mom"

"Fine, but just know I told them not to and you chose to come in here" and Lorelai opened the door

Rory walked into the inn to see cream colored bears and extravagant balloons and an Oh Baby! Sign that hung the people in the place not realizing she had just entered

"You didn't" Rory whispered

"Your right I didn't" Lorelai said "I just helped" and Rory rolled her eyes and Lane turned

"RORY!" Her friends and beloved members of the town turned to see Rory and cheered as she looked shocked

"The surprise failed" gypsy pointed out
