" happy birthday Katniss!" Prim said as she barged into the room two minutes after Johanna left

" hey little duck" i said and hugged her tightly

" I can't believe your nineteen!" She said and I smiled

" I know, if only we where back home and celebrate how we usually do" I said and she sadly sighed

" maybe President Coin has a cake for you?!" She said full of optimism

" I don't think they do stuff like this around here, she probably has better things to be doing" I said and she shrugged

" you know you do a lot of stuff for her so I think she should, if I was her I would" she said and I hugged her

" thank you Prim means a lot" I said and she smiled

" hey littledean" Johanna said as she walked in

" the 8th of may why?" She said and Prim laughed

" oh, never mind then. Bye Katniss! Bye Johanna! , actually Katniss mom wants to see you tonight after her shift ok don't forget"

" you never told me yours so I assumed it wasn't that important, hold on you never mentioned yours either" I said and she scoffed

" maybe because mines in fucking July! You know now I look like a shit girlfriend because I didn't even know your birthday" she said and I shook my head

" you are the furthest thing from a shit girlfriend, Jo you are literally the best, and hey there's gonna be plenty more birthdays, another reason why I didn't say anything is because we are stuck in this place, we couldn't of even celebrate properly anyway" I said and she still sighed

" I guess I would've like to know when your birthday was, even if it was just to wake you up with a happy birthday kiss" she said and I hugged her

" so what date in July are you? You know, for future reference"I asked her and she laughed

" 15th of July, mom always told me I was supposed to be born on the 30th of June but I was to lazy to come out" she said and I laughed

" see I'm the opposite, I was 21 days early, I was meant to be born the 29th of may but I had other plans"

" eager as always brainless, nothing new" she said

" hey you can't be mean to me it's my birthday" I said and sat like a child on the bed

" ok then, what can I do?" She asked leaving little space between our lips

We walked towards Finnick and Annie's room and I was very confused why she dragged me here and interrupted my moment.

Haymitch, Gale, Annie, Finnick, Patterson, mom and prim yelled when I walked into the room.

" Jesus Christ you all scared me" I said and smiled hugging prim when she ran over to me

" happy birthday my girl" Effie said and hugged me tightly kissing my cheek

" who done all this?" I asked

" Johanna did, she's been planning all week" Annie said and I turned to her

" your a liar! How did you know?" I asked and she smiled

" your sister wouldn't stop going on about it, god it was so difficult to keep to it a surprise from you" she said and I pulled her into an embrace

" thank you, I love it" I said and she kissed my check before I turned back around

" how did you get a cake?" I asked admiring the dessert

" turns out Effie is good with making baked goods, she's not just all about her makeup and wigs" Haymitch said and I smiled

" thank you Effie it's beautiful" I said and she smiled

" Happy birthday Catnip" Gale said and I couldn't smiling at everyone, Johanna didn't need to do this but she went out of her way to make my birthday special.

" ok the present isn't the best, because I had to convince coin and Plutarch to get, I thought I would've had to go the capital but someone in here makes them. If you don't like it's fine" Johanna said and handed me a small box

" I'll like it no matter what" I said and she gave me a small smile

I took the ribbon off the box and opened it up, inside was a necklace with my emerald green birthstone and mine and hers first letters of our names. It was amazing.

" oh Johanna, this is beautiful" I said still admiring the necklace

" here let me put it on you" mom said and walked over and Unclasped the necklace and placed it around me

" who wants cake!"
