We arrived Johanna's home and I seen her face soften, she seemed happy, even though her family isn't here waiting to welcome her home she still is over the moon to return to some amount of normality. The house was pretty much the same as me just of course different pictures, I scanned the room taking in my surroundings like I did when I moved to my victor house when I returned to twelve. When I returned home I was pissed off, that the people lived in slums and we could live somewhere like this, in my eyes it wasn't fair.

" you hungry?" she asked and I shook my head no

" good because there's literally no food here, I'll head down to market soon and grab some food" she said and nodded giving her a kind expression

I sat on the couch and looked at her coffee table, I could make out that it was a family photo, Johanna, her parents, her two brothers and her sister. Johanna looked so happy, smiling from ear to ear as she stood next her older sister.

" I was eight in that photo, my folks saved up so much to be able to get a decent photo of all us together. That's Jamie beside me, she was two years older than me, she was always way more of a girly girly despite her name. Leo was five years older than me, we used to fight like crazy, I used to hang around with all of his friends because I wasn't interested in playing dolls with the girls. Sam was the oldest, he was ten years older than me, we took that photo after he escaped his chances of being reaped,  he was really bothered by me, I would always want to mess fight with him because nobody else would" she said and took a shaky breath

" they didn't deserve to die, not because of me. I regret not saying yes to snow and just doing as he pleased because they would've been standing here" She said and wiped a tear from her eye

" it was never your fault, you had a right to say no. How the hell were you supposed to know that he was going to kill them? You were asked to sell yourself and you said no" I said and and she sighed

" I can't think like that Katniss! Would you blame yourself if that happened to you?" She asked and I couldn't lie to her and say I wouldn't because it's the first thing I would do

" exactly, everyone would blame themselves" she said and shrugged

" that'll be on my mind for the rest of my life, but snow isn't here to take away anymore people I care about" she said and I nodded

" he can't do anymore harm"

Johanna dragged me to the markets with her, she said she wanted to get me used to the town which is understandable but I didn't want to be thrown into it this fast. I don't know, I would rather get settled in her home before being thrown around the town meeting all these unfamiliar people and seeing all these unfamiliar places.

" come on brainless, you could at least flash your infamous smile" she said and I rolled my eyes

" whatever" I said coldly and followed her like a baby duck follows her mother

" Mason is that you?" I heard someone
Call and watched Johanna smile

" in the flesh!" She said and girl ran towards embracing her in a hug, I felt a ping in my chest. Jealous? No way it couldn't be

" can't believe your still alive, thought you died saving Everdeen" she said and I raised an eyebrow

" yeah I'm standing right here" I said and pulled a face

" well this is a surprise" she said and I laughed

" and why's that?" I asked and crossed my arms

" hey, leave it. Katniss this is Carly" she introduced but I wasn't up for an introduction, she just rolled her eyes and averted herself back to Johanna

" I missed you Mason, place wasn't the same around here without your sarcastic mouth running around" she said and Johanna laughed

" I'm sure use could've survived a while without me" She said and I was beginning to grow impatient and I wanted to piss that bitch off as much as she pissed me off

" I'm going to go home, I'll see you later" I said and pulled Johanna in for a kiss pulling away after a couple seconds

it turned swiftly on my feet and headed back towards the home, did I feel good about kissing her in front of Carly? Hell fucking yeah. I let her know not to mess with me.

About two hours went by and still no sign of Johanna, I had a shower in the time that I waited, I wonder what she was doing? She was probably enjoying her time being home.

" Come on" I heard her say, as I sat on the couch with just a sports bra on and some pyjama bottoms

" there you are brainless" Johanna said and I looked at her

" I told you I was coming home" I said and shrugged flicking through a book I found

" you want a drink Katniss? Me and Carly are gonna have one" she asked

" nope" I said blankly with no emotion at all

" did you get food?" I asked even though I seen no bags in her hand

" kinda got sidetracked Everdeen" Carly said and I rolled my eyes

" Whatever Mason, goodnight" I said and slammed the book shut and jumped off the sofa

I don't think Johanna knew I was just in a bra and bottoms because of the way I was on the couch but the both of them looked shocked. My bottoms were low waisted showing off my curves. I didn't even make eye contact with Johanna and just waltzed up the stairs

" what the fucks up her ass?" I overheard Carly say

" no idea"
