" your gonna like Seven, well I hope you do" Johanna said as we walked towards the train

" I hope so too" I said and smiled

Johanna thankfully was able to book tickets and we had our spot on the train, I kept my hood up as we walked because I didn't want people to see my face. They'd probably hall names at me, call me a traitor and wish for my death.

" come on we have to keep moving" Johanna said and grabbed my hand dragging me towards the train station

I haven't been on a train since the last games. Before the games I always thought trains were so cool, but after you spend to much time on them you realise they aren't all that they are bumped up to be.

" Ah Miss Mason, Miss Everdeen. Your train is this way, it's great to see two of the victors alive and well" the train conductor said as we walked up to the ticket station

" please follow me" she said and showed us to our carts

" unfortunately this isn't as nice as the ones you would've been escorted on for your games but it's the second best!" She said happily and I just nodded and headed onto the cart

I looked around and seen some comfy chairs placed in the middle of the room with a bar connected to the wall, it was still an amazing look train as they say the capital spares no expense.

" how long is the train?" I asked sparking conversation with Johanna

" shouldn't be long? Maybe two hours at most" she said and I nodded

" do you think people will be angry if I'm in seven?" I asked her

" no why would they? They followed you Katniss" she said and I shrugged

" I don't know, I just wondered if they would be pissed off seeing me" I said and she shook her head

" if they have anything to say they can come and speak to me"

**

the train journey went smooth enough, there wasn't many people on it, maybe just some rebels returning home after a tough battle. I never got a full look at seven when I was on the victory tour and all I knew about this place was that Johanna was from there. From what I could see of it, it wasn't as run down as twelve is, people seemed a lot more lively also, in twelve most people walked around like corpses.

" welcome to seven Brainless" Johanna said and smiled as she looked around at her home district

" thank you for having me Mason" I said and smiled back at her

She wanted to take the long way towards the victors village which I couldn't object too, I would be the exact same, wanting to take in all the familiar surroundings. Many people bustled through the town and were happy to see Johanna again, welcoming her back home, no attention was paid to me which I was thankful for, I didn't need anymore than I already had.

" Johanna, amazing to have you home dear" An older women said and placed her hand on her shoulder

" Thank you Mrs Rose, it's great to be home also" She said and Mrs Rose smiled

" I've always had hope for you girl, you made my husband and seven proud of you. Katniss Everdeen is that you?" she asked and I looked directly into her deep brown eyes

" yes Ma'am" I said nicely flashing a small smile

" welcome to seven dear, you saved a lot more people from suffering what we've all suffered" she said and pulled me in for an unexpected hug which I accepted gratefully

" well I'll let use two go, we'll speak soon girls" she said and waved us off

" who is that?" I asked and Johanna smiled

" Marabelle Rose, the winner of the 15th annual hunger games, she won when she was 15. Her husband Rodger Rose, the winner of the 17th hunger games, he won when he was 17. They fell in love when he won, they had children, Paisley, Anna-June and Vlad, luckily for her none of her kids were chosen for the hunger games. Rodger passed away two years ago and all of her kids have their own children, she's a lovely woman, she helped me after my first games" Johanna said as we walked home

" she seems amazing, very friendly" I said and Johanna nodded

" she was always worried about her grandchildren being picked for the games, she didn't want to see them going through that" she said and I frowned

" the people are a lot friendlier than twelve, they would barely even make eye contact at you. Nobody cared if you won the games because their jealously took over. I couldn't exactly blame them, I would be jealous as if someone had a shit tone of money to spare and I'm on the brink of starving to death. The joy of having a victor from the district lasts maybe an hour then your forgotten" I said and Johanna gave me a look

" like in one and two, people are praised for winning their games, fucking role models, but twelve isn't like that" I said and sighed deeply

" you know how happier I am that I'll never have to mentor kids that I know aren't going to make it, I try to give them the best advice but there's nothing I can" Johanna said and I grabbed her hand

" you will never have to mentor ever again, these games are going to be the mistakes of the past. Babies and unborn Babies will never have to know about the hunger games or experience the fear and terror that those reapings will bring" I said and she grabbed a tighter gripped

" the odds will always be in there favour"
