The best way to die is by having the best night sleep of your life and never waking up to see the sky again.

"I hate you" "Ev, it's only been 10 minutes" Elijah says with a paintbrush on one hand and a palette on the other. "Exactly, too damn long" I say while my whole body aches. "Ev! We're never going to finish this project if you keep complaining every 5 seconds." That's right we're doing this stupid art project that I was excited for, now I'm starting to take that back. "Can't I just take a break?" "You asked that 5 minutes ago" Elijah says, now completely frustrated with me, not that I care.

I guess this is the punishment for not exercising for 2 years straight. "Huff, fine but if I get cramps everywhere, I'm blaming you." "Ok, ok, it's not like there's anymore whining any worse than this." He muttered. "What did you just say?" I ask, sounding very offended. "Nothing" He said, a little too fast.

After so many hours, I can't even begin to count, it's my turn to paint Elijah. And he poses like a champ and doesn't even move a muscle for an hour straight. Show off

We're finally done with the art project and walking to the park. I'm craving ice cream

"Can we get ice cream?" I plead with puppy eyes. Elijah doesn't even look at me and says no almost too quickly. "Please" I plead again. This time he looks at me and thinks for a very long moment and says, "Fine" then proceeds to roll his eyes at me. Unbelievable

At least I get ice cream.

We get to the ice cream shop and order. There was a very nice lady who on her badge said Sarah got our orders. I got strawberries and Elijah got chocolate, yea we're basic. I tried to smile at the lady while Elijah just muttered a thank you dragged me out. Rude

After we got our ice creams we walked over to the park and sat on my now favorite bench and licked ice cream, except for Elijah, who bit his like a psychopath.

We finished our ice creams and was in the middle of a conversation when my phone rang,

Why would anyone be calling me at this time?

I pick it up and put my phone against my ear.

"Hello? Is this Everleigh Anne Carlo?"

I take a deep breath,

it's about my grandmother
