Melina's pov:

I woke up around eight in the morning overwhelmed with a feeling of happiness and fulfillment. I turned to my right where Stavros was supposed to be sleeping and found no one. He was gone.  My heart was filled with sadness. Did he regret what we did yesterday? Was I another conquest for him?

I quickly got up, gathered all my clothes that were scattered all over the floor and left. I went back to my room and went straight to the bathroom to do my daily routine, then I got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast. Aggeliki was waiting for me in the dining room.

-"Good morning my lady. Did you sleep well last night?" she asked me with a sly look. Does she know what happened yesterday? No, no she probably doesn't. Her bedroom is downstairs like all the staff's how could she hear us? However, I think today she is a little different. Maybe it's just me.

-"Good morning Aggeliki, quite well thank you and you?" I replied with a smile.

-"I am very glad to hear it my lady. May I serve your breakfast?"

-"Yes please!" I told her and waited to my spot. I looked at Stavros' empty chair and couldn't stop thinking why he left so early without greeting me or leaving me a message. While my mind made various scenarios, Aggeliki brought the tray with the breakfast on. It had nearly everything.

-"Here you are my lady. Enjoy!" she said with a smile.

-"Aggeliki who's gonna eat all these?" I wondered.

-"You my lady, who else? You have to take care of yourself my lady. You always have so much to do"

-"I guess I have. Thank you Aggeliki".

-"For what my lady?" she wondered.

-"For taking such a good care of me" I answered gratefully. I appreciate the fact that she is always kind and caring with me. Ever since I came to this house, Aggeliki has treated me with friendliness and absolute respect.

-"Aggeliki do you know what time did Stavros leave the house?"

-"I'm sorry my lady, I do not. He must have left very early as I did not see him when I woke up."

-"I see..... thank you Aggeliki. You may go now...."

She made a bow and left the room. I was left alone with my thoughts. Although I was very hungry, nothing came down. The fact that Stavros left so early without leaving me any note worried me. "Why did he do that? Is this his way of telling me he's having second thoughts about what we did yesterday? Shall I look for him?'"

"No, no, that's not a good idea. Going to his work and asking for explanations would not be right. It would only make matters worse. I prefer to wait for him to come back and ask him for an explanation. Maybe something urgent happened that made him leave early".

I took gently some sips of my hot coffee. Nothing came down. A feeling of sadness and deep melancholy surrounded me. If I stayed here a little longer I would go crazy. I had to distract myself with something else. I got up and went to work.

Time passes very quickly when you have a lot to take care of. The issue of Stavros was forgotten after so many meetings with partners and clients.

I arrived home completely exhausted in the early afternoon. I had a small hope that I would find him at home but unfortunately I was wrong. Stavros hadn't come home yet. I ate alone.

The odds of his having second thoughts about what happened between us yesterday have increased exponentially against me since this morning. Now, I'm absolutely sure he's avoiding me. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I decided to take a relaxing bath and go to bed. I was in desperate need of sleep as my mind was a mess. Sleep is one of the few ways I deal with problems. When I can't find a solution and end up at a dead end I always take a good sleep. It makes it easier for me to accept a difficult situation and helps me to think right.
