Chapter 27 - Halcyon Days

Stavros' pov:

I had a lot of meetings and business appointments today but I prefered to cancel them all and stay with my beautiful wife. I saw how Melina got my last leave and I didn't want to upset her again. From now on, I have to be more compassionate and take care of Melina's feelings before acting. Melina made me see that the time when I lived carefree and my actions did not affect anyone else but me, passed irrevocably. Whatever I do, even if it seems small and insignificant to me, can be very important to someone else.

We stayed in bed making love all day.  At ten o'clock Aggeliki brought us breakfast. This old fox has already figured it out for us and when she came in, she gave us a naughty smile.
Around twelve we got up and after sharing a very steaming bath, we got dressed and decided to go for a ride with our horses. Although we were at the end of winter, the weather was sunny and warm. The halcyon days had come to earth but also into our hearts.

Before leaving, we got a basket full of food and drinks that Aggeliki prepared for us. We decided that it was a good idea to have lunch in the cabin, so we headed there. When we arrived, we tied the horses to an oak and after leaving the basket in the cabin we decided to take a walk in the forest. A few meters away from the cabin, there was a beautiful small lake with a small waterfall. Sometimes if you are lucky you can see swans and various migratory birds swimming in it.
During our walk, Melina held a beautiful yellow wild flower in her hand and she crooned a song I had never heard before.
-"What are you humming?"I asked her curiously. I kind of like this song. It filled my heart with warmth and a sense of security.
-"Oh ..I am sorry I didn't want to bother you" she said timidly.
-"No, not at all. I like its rhythm! Where did you learn it?"
-"It's a song my mom used to sing when she put me to bed. I usually sing it softly when I'm happy" she said smiling.
-"Really?"
-"Of course, why lie?" she wondered.
-"No, not about the song .... I mean do you really feel happy here with me?" I asked in a needy way.
-"I think...... I am...... Stavros" she admitted smiling broadly.
-"Do you mean it? " Ι asked again impatiently.
-"Of course I do" she insisted without her smile fading away from her face.
-"You know something? I feel happy too. I like spending time with you. For the first time in my life someone managed to make me feel so complete and carefree" I confessed.
-"And this person is me?" she asked in surprise.
-"Of course you silly! Who else? You are precious to me, don't you see?" I replied happily.
-"Oh my...! I never thought I would be precious to anyone! After my mother died and Tina came into my life, my self-esteem was lost. Being always accused of not being worthy of being loved a terrible insecurity grew in my heart. Τhen came the final blow with the rejection of George and the betrayal of my father. Until recently I thought that no one could ever love me" she confessed sincerely to me with teary eyes.
-"Shhh.....Nonsense...you're super cute!" I said as I seductively moved closer to her and gently caressed her cheek wiping away her tears. She came closer and hugged me tightly. We stayed there for a few seconds. Our hug filled our hearts warmth and completeness. "This is what absolute happiness should be like," I thought to myself.

We reached the lake hand in hand. The place was beautiful as always. Having not visited it for so long, I had forgotten how exciting it was. The water of the waterfall was clear and transparent and flowed beautifully into the lake, which was surrounded by tall trees such as willows and plane trees. Green was everywhere and little flowers were growing around the edges.

The sun was playing hide and seek with the tall trees around the pond while beautiful birds were chirping everywhere. Colorful flowers had sprouted and green grass was spreaded in every corner. Nature was well dressed and ready to welcome the good weather of the halcyon days. I laid down a blanket I had taken from the cabin and after I sat on it, I urged Melina to do the same. I gave her my hand, she took it and sat next to me. I ran my hand behind her back and she tilted her head to my chest. I kissed her on the forehead and we stayed like this enjoying the scenery for a few minutes.
Then Melina suddenly stood up, took off her boots and put her feet in the lake.
-"What are you doing?" I asked her in surprise.
-"I put my feet into the lake" she replied casually.
-" You'll get cold!" I warned her.
-"Don't be so grumpy and come here with me. The water is wonderful!" she urged happily.
I took off my boots and followed her to the lake. She sat on the edge with her hands behind her back for support and her feet in the pond. Her head was tilted back and her face was facing the sun. Her eyes were closed and she was smiling. She seemed calm and peaceful. I love seeing her like this. I stared at her spellbound for several minutes. I couldn't believe this woman was sitting beside me and that I finally managed to make her mine! I splashed some water on her face and she jerked herself off.
-"Hey! Why did you do that?" she asked slightly irritated.
-"Because I do not want anything else to make you smile like this" I told her, feeling sad by her lack of attention.
-"Ah......I never thought you were such an attention holder."
-"I am not. I just don't like being ignored" I explained playfully and approached her. She looked me straight in the eyes making a grin and said.
-"You're completely mad!"
-"Yes, completely mad about you!" I added and gave her a passionate kiss which she happily welcomed.

We spent there our whole afternoon doing various things. I was fishing while Melina was playing with the water. During all this time we didn't stop talking about nearly everything. The hours passed so pleasantly that made us skip our lunch. We haven't realized it until the sun was ready to set and we decided to return to the cabin.

I lit the fire in the fireplace while Melina prepared the food on the table. We ate dinner by candlelight and sat by the fireplace drinking wine and eating fruits. 

I put the glass down and gave her a passionate kiss. When I'm around her I can't control myself. I want to hug and kiss her all over. She returned my kiss and put her left hand behind my neck, stroking my hair with her right hand while I whispered sweet words in her ear causing her to blush. I started removing her clothes slowly while at the same time caressing every inch of her body starting from her cheeks to her most sensitive area.

I started making fantastic circles with my finger on her clit while she trembled with pleasure. Her moans soon took my libido to new heights, and not just my libido. This woman is really amazing! 

Her body is so curvy and so perfect and her smell is so enticing that it makes it hard for me to stay away from her for long. I laid on top of her and started placing wet kisses on her cheeks and ears while at the same time I put my head on her neck and took a big sniff.

Then my lips left her neck and went down to her belly. After many kisses and caresses my lips ended up to her sweet flower. When my tongue touched her clit her moanings became louder and more intense! It didn't take her long to come. I made a pause to catch my breath and continue for the second round. I didn't wait long to get inside her. Although she was wet and ready for me I preferred to let her decide when she would give me the green light. As minutes passed by, my thrusts became deeper and faster and I was ready to come when I decided to change our position. I grabbed her hips and after I entered her I started penetrating again and again with much more force until we both came at the same time.We lay next to each other sweaty, tired but with a sense of fulfillment. I started caressing her face while she looked at me adoringly. We stayed there, cuddled under the blankets until we fell asleep.
