The journey was long, boring and hard. Stark had a sore back behind since the carriage was not very comfortable. Her mates did not talk much and the travel was filled with an awkward silence. Stark at least had enough time to watch her mates. The were both incredibly handsome, they did not look at her much but she had a hunch they were communicating somehow. On this long trip all she had to look at was them and the scenery, she regretted not to take with her on the carriage a few books, she had been so rushed that she had no time to sort it out, they told her to take just a few things the rest would come with another carriage.

She had a lot of time to think about what would happen. She was not ready for a relationship, frankly she was not even looking for one. She thought to herself that it would be best to get to know them and not rush anything. She knew almost nothing about the mate thing since it had never interested her enough but she knew that the higher beings wanted to mark and mate their soulmates as fast as possible. Stark wondered why they seemed in no rush to do so but she quickly discarded that thought and thought to herself that their situation was not normal at all so that had to be the reason for their reluctance.

Stark had a wild imagination and she often lived in it through her books. She thought about how this mate thing was going to be. Would they all share a room together when she would be ready to be in a relationship with them or would she switch between the two. This kind of thinking made her embarrassed and her face was as red as an apple. Her mates asked her if she was not feeling well but she was quick to answer that she was just hot. They both looked at her strangely and said it was strange for a human to be this hot when it was freezing outside and the carriage was not very warm. They asked her if this was normal for humans or if they should be worried. They did not know much about humans and frankly they never had any interest in knowing anything about them like most higher beings. This made them look at her worriedly, they both decided to learn as much about humans as they could since they had to protect their human baby maker at all cost. Stark was even more embarrassed and said she was alright and her coat was just to tight. She thought to herself that this was some lame ass excuse but she could not think of anything else, she would rather die than tell them what she was thinking about.

She tried to talk to them to get to know them but they're answers were short and precise. It made her mad that they did not try to get to know her or let her get to know them better. She was annoyed so so just decided she would not speak unless spoken to for the rest of the trip. She always had a short fuse, she was a little firecracker after all. She was not beautiful at all but she always thought that everyone had at least one thing that made them beautiful, for her that was her fire red hair. Her hair colour was very rare, she had never seen any human with her hair colour, she was proud of it and it made her feel special. She knew at least they liked her hair. When they thought she was not looking the would stare at it and made her feel good about herself.

All through the journey the two alphas talked to each other through their matebond. They kept reassuring each other how much they loved each other. They talked about how much they wanted to hold and feel each other, they felt sad that now they had to hide their relationship and they knew it was going to be hard but still they wanted to continue. They were both very happy and loved each other with all their heart but there was just one thing they wanted to complete their lives and that was their own child. All through the journey they shared with each other the image that they had of their future children, it made their heart swell and they were excited. They were annoyed at the human, she was always pestering them and asking them questions, they wanted to talk with each other and not to her. After a while she stopped talking and they could immerse back into their conversations and promises of a better future.

Stark thought that all this was just too strange but still she said nothing, she felt like the third wheel and it made her sad. She did not understand it at all. They told her that she was their mate but still they seemed like they had no interest in her at all. She tried to reassure herself that maybe they were just shy and did not know what to do. She tried to put herself in their shoes, she thought to herself that they must feel very strange to have to share a mate with each other. She did not understand herself at all, she felt so much emotions in such a short time. She was not used to it at all. She had never been very emotional. When her mother died she was very angry and depressed for a long time. She had not felt many emotions after that. She felt no joy or sorrow, or not much at least. To protect herself she locked her heart away to protect herself from getting hurt again but now she did not know what to do. She was wondering if she should really open herself and try to be happy. She thought about children, she hoped she would be one of the few that could get pregnant but chances were still very very low but still high enough to leave just a little traces of hope.

She saw a town on the horizon and that was when her mates told her they had arrived. She thought to herself, finally I can take a bath, eat a hot meal and hopefully sleep in a warm bed. She could not wait to see where she would be living. When the carriage stopped and she saw the house she thought her jaw would hit the floor. That was not a house it was a mansion it was so big, she just hoped she could be happy and live a good life but you never know where fate may lead you.
