One too many

Part 20 ~ Meeting Erik

Stark fell asleep in Asa embrace, she felt safe with the witch and she regarded her as her closest confidant. When Stark woke up it was morning. She felt pain all over her body but still she tried to ignore it, since she was dying she wanted to use the time she had left to live. She thought about Erik, was it really a good idea to meet him, if he was as in love with her as Asa said, it would only be harder for him after she would pass on. Still she chose to ignore the feeling of guilt and do what was right or wrong, she did not know how much time she had left and she wanted to use it to experience romance, even if she knew it might not be the right thing to do.

Her old helpers treater her like their own daughter, she liked all of them and felt thankful for all they had done for her. This day they had spent a lot of time helping her out of bed, she even took a bath, it was the nicest bath she had ever taken, filled with herbs to sooth her aching bones. After the bath she was dressed in a beautiful gown. She wanted to meet Erik in the garden, she wanted to get out of that room and feel the fresh air in her lungs. They took great care of her and even took the time to put on some make up for her since she was so pale, they made her cheeks look like a rose that had bloomed, she look like an angel, an angel that was dying, it was pitiful but yet so beautiful.

They drove her chair to the garden and left her there with a comfy blanket. It was such a nice day, sunny and bright, the birds were singing a song of spring, Asa liked it a lot, she had a big smile on her face as she closed her eyes and let the sun kiss her face, it felt so warm and nice, she felt like a new person, if only she could go out every day, wouldn't that be nice.

Erik had been on pins and needles all morning, he was so restless and could not wait to see her again, he tried to reassure himself it was all because of his wolf but deep down he knew he longed to see her just as much as his wolf did. Stone was in a very sullen mood, he wanted to see her just as much as Erik did but he would never admit that to anyone, he was envious that Erik was the one that got to see her and not him. Asa had told him it was better if he would not show her his face until she was well. Seeing his face might trigger her memories and she would then likely rather die than be with either of them. It pained both of them so, they had made such a mess out of everything, still it was not entirely their fault, the goddess had introduced her to them too late, their bond was so deep that it was hard to make another bond with a new mate without it affecting their bond, still they had made too many mistakes and hurt her, both physically and mentally, would she ever be able to forgive them, he really did not want an answer to that question since he was sure it would not be an answer he would like to hear.

Erik had put on his nicest clothes and he spent a long time getting ready. He wanted to look dashing, as handsome as sin so that she would fall for him at first sight. Still he was anxious, he was scared she might remember everything as soon she would see him but it was a chance he was willing to make, he had to safe her so that she would stay with them and love them until their dying day. Erik's love was selfish, he thought more about what he needed and wanted than what was best for her, they were both such selfish humans, their wolves were the best thing about them, they loved fiercely and true, their love would never waiver and they would never let their mate down but they unfortunately did not have as much power over their bodies host. Yes they could interfere and take over but they would not be able to stay long if their human wanted control, they had to submit to their human most of the time, it was a balanced act and it worked best when you were in sync with your wolf, since his desires were yours too, it was complex but most lived happily with their bonded wolf.

When Erik went to the garden he saw Stark sitting smiling happily towards the sun, he could almost feel his heart melting, it was just such a beautiful sight, his heart started to beat faster and his feet walked faster towards his mate he had longed to see and embrace for such a long time.

He smiled like a fool, he was so happy that  his wolf was singing the songs of his brothers in joy, he almost did not want to trouble her, it was almost enough just to watch her but he could not control himself, he said hello, he told her he had been eagerly waiting to meet her again and smiled so widely that it reached his eyes. Stark opened her eyes, she had almost fallen asleep so she was a little disoriented, when she opened her eyes and saw Erik her heart started to beat a little faster. He was so handsome that she did not know what to say. She gave him just as a big smile that Erik gave her and told him to sit down.

As soon as Erik sat down, tea was offered to them both with light refreshments. At first they both just sat, looking at each other and not knowing what to say, Stark was the one to break the ice and said the first thing that came into her mind. She told him that he was such a handsome man that all the girls must be running after him like crazy. It amused Erik immensely and made his anxiety go down, she had thankfully not remembered so he could start a new, this time he would treat her like a gentleman. He would love her like the goddess she was, he was so thankful for the second opportunity and he would not waste it.

They spent hours talking, laughing and bonding. Erik told her about his youth, he told him he had many people to take care of so he had to work hard but he would do his best to see her every day from now on if she would let him. Stark smiled happily, she told him she would like that very much, she wanted to get to know him better, she felt happy and relaxed around him and she hoped that maybe, just maybe he could be her shining armour, she hoped he could be her one and only till she would pass. She wanted to be loved just like every other teenager, she craved it and she hoped he would be willing to show her and love her until she would take her last breath.

My beast story is done for now so now I'll try to update this story every week, i have not decided the length of it yet, so we will see :) Have a great weekend.
