"The entire world's about to forget
that Peter Parker is Spider-Man,
including me." Stephen said as the golden Runes circled us.
"Everyone?" Peter started to panic.
"Well except your sister." Stephen nodded at me.
"Uh... can't some other people still know?" Peter asked.
"That's not how the spell works. And it's very difficult and dangerous to change it, mid-casting." Stephen told us both.
"So my girlfriend's just gonna forget about everything we've been through?" Peter asked, a wild look in his eyes. "I mean, is she even gonna
be my girlfriend?"
"That depends. Was she your girlfriend just 'cause you're
Spider-Man, or--"
"I mean, I don't know. I really hope not!" Peter exclaimed.
I took ahold of his hand and squeezed
"All right, fine." Stephen started to adjust the spell. "Everyone in the world's gonna
forget that you're Spider-Man,
except your girlfriend and your sister."
Thank you so much, that--" He cut himself off when he realized something else. "Oh my God, Ned. Ned!"
"What is a "Ned?" Stephen asked and I sighed, stepping out of the circle.
"Call me when you're actually going to cast it."
"He's my best friend, so it's really
important to me that Ned knows." Peter said as I sat at the side.
Strange sighed and worked to adjust the spell. Again. "Okay. Let's not change the parameters of this spell any more while I'm casting it."
"Okay, I'm done. I'm done. I swear
I'm done. I'm done." Peter then realize something else. "Ah! But my Aunt May should really know!"
"Peter, stop tampering with the
spell." Stephen and I said at the same time.
"When she found out that I was
Spider-Man, it was really messy and
I don't think that I can go through
with that again." Peter paused. "So, my Aunt May?"
"Yes!"
"Oh, thank you, thank you--Happy?"
"No, I'm annoyed!"
"No, it's a nickname." Peter told him and I got up to leave them to it. "Harold
"Happy" Hogan. He used to work for
Tony Stark, but then he was kind of
dating my aunt, and they broke up--"
The spell starts to shift and waver.
"Would you just stop talking!?" Stephen asked as I left.
I walked back to Happy's apartment so I could talk to Aunt May, then go to sleep so I could see Harry.
"Hey, sweetie." She said when I came in the door and I left the letter on the counter.
"Hi."
