I grab the hem of my pallu in front and pull it front as I walked into the huge ass building of his. I already knew he was rich but not...this much. The building was almost twenty floors high and workers rushed here and there everywhere. It was literally made of glass and had such a richy rich vibe for some reason.

I reached the receptionist who was typing furiously on the computer. She glanced up at me but then again continued to do her work.

"Um... excuse me. I wanted to meet Mr. Agnihotri", my anxiety had to kick in right now.

"Do you have an appointment, ma'am?", she sighed still writing something.

"No, I just came to meet him to give him lunch", I pointed at the worker who held a bag.

"Sorry to say but I have already seen hundreds of fangirls like you", she rolled her eyes. Duh, he has fangirls?

"I am not. Just call him and say him Akriti Marwaha- I mean Akriti Agnihotri is here and he should come fast", I pressed.

"I ain't taking your shit, lady. I need to call the security", she glared. Fine, I rolled my eyes before picking the phone and typing his nickname.

"Hello, woah did I wake up on the other side of the bed?", I could literally feel his amusing smirk.

"Might as well say be kicked off the bed", he chuckled hearing my reply.

"Your receptionist is not letting me into your office. Just get this cleared fast", I hushed as people started staring at me weirdly. I tucked the strand of hair falling on my face nervously.

"I understood, give her the phone", I nodded passing her as she took it hesitantly. She visibly flinched as he cursed like usual. Treat your people better, idiot.

"I..I apologize, ma'am. I didn't know its you as boss hasn't yet officially announced about his wedding. I... I will get someone to guide you to his chamber", she nervously scurried.

"That's okay. I can understand your concern about his security with people swarming here just like that", I gave her a small assuring smile as she relaxed a bit.

We reached the seventeenth floor where it was completely silent and empty. You are not going to murder me, right? I mean I know, I am not the best and nicest of people anyone would meet but still I ain't that bad either.

But soon I was made to enter a spacious room where Aadrik was reading some files. He looked up and smiled at me widely. Immediately dropping his file, he made his way towards me.

I signaled the worker to place the bag on the table and leave the room.

"You care about me a lot, sweetheart", he batted his eyelashes making me gag dramatically.

"Being this delusional is pretty harmful. Have your lunch before it gets cold", I rolled my eyes.

"Please! I don't want to die this young knowing how 'good' you are in cooking", he threw his hands back and moving aside.

I...I am not offended. Yeah, I am not-

"As you already know me this much, you must also realize it is your cook who prepared lunch, not me."

"Lets have together, I am sure you haven't yet had yours", he chuckled hearing my stomach grumble in agreement. I shut my eyes tightly to avoid the embarrassment and sat down opposite his after washing hands.

I placed the two plates and started serving us food.

"So, when will you join again?", he hummed as he took the first scoop of rice.

I turned silent as I remembered those words of aunties back in home. Even if I am trying to act confident and strong from outside, I did feel a pang in heart knowing those would never consider me a worthy of anything ever.

"Akriti?"

"Huh", my trance was broken as I saw his eyebrows scrunched in confusion. "Did anyone say anything to you in the house?", he asked me again.

"No..nothing. I just got a bit spaced out", I shrugged it off and we continued to eat in silence.

As we cleaned up and sat on the couch back just to relax after the stomach full of food, he sighed.

"I know there is something wrong. Please don't lie to me... you can share anything and I would try my best to rectify it, alright?", his eyes held sincerity and I couldn't help but nod in acknowledgement.

"I... I just need some time to wrap up with the new surrounding, everything went in haywire as you know", I tried to avoid slipping from my tongue.

"I understand and hence we planned not to hold the reception soon. Probably in a month after you get settled", he smiled. Weren't you the same one who promised to make me yours?

"Yeah", I just muttered and we fell into a thick silence which was suffocating me. "Do you want to have some ice cream?", he suddenly asked.

"Huh", I blinked trying to comprehend what he just said.

"You love desserts especially ice cream right? There is a really cool place two blocks away, come", he forwarded his hand for me to take.

I couldn't help but smile like a kid, I just can't resist food please don't blame me.

We walked outside hand in hand as he didn't let it down. The workers stared at us until we went outside. We walked into the place which wasn't much crowded other than a friend's group and old couples.

Before I could place my order, he already started speaking. Dafuq!?

"A belgian chocolate with extra choco chips and one mango flavored ice cream", the waitress nodded taking the notes timidly probably intimidated by him.

"Well... I didn't know that you remembered my favorite after all these years", I stuttered as my heart fluttered at a high speed.

"I never forgot any of your details. You just never glanced at me enough", our staring contest continued until the waitress cleared her throat.

"You are not in our friends' group, right?"

"I am not... I don't have much connections with all my past friends", I seriously don't want to have either.

"They are arranging a get together party as its been almost a decade since anyone of us met and busy with higher studies and work. Will you... err join me?", he is so nervous.

"Sure! I bet they would be shocked to the core", I smirked imaging all of them blinking while trying to figure out how on earth we both ended up together that too in marriage.

"Damn, that would be worth watching", he chuckled and we continued to eat in silence.

He payed the bill as I didn't bring my clutch and the waitress placed the small chit and flirty smiled.

He winked in response making me roll my eyes. He ain't changing...

I grabbed the chit to see the phone number. I looked back at the waitress who frowned. I stuck my tongue tearing the paper into bits without breaking eye contact and throwing it with the tissue paper in the bin.

"Aww, you are so possessive", he pinched my chubby cheeks.

I just stuck my tongue out in response making him laugh. "That was so mature of you."
